She discovered that the rural life was not for her and the quest forINVOCATION education was instilled into her and her two siblings at a very young age. She has been nominated several times for the Excellence in Teaching Award by her anatomy students. In 2019, she was one of the Ivy Tech COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS Innovation Day Grant winners for her idea “Prepping a Pack of Physiology Students,” This is an Derrick Stewart, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis online preparatory course for students in the first semester of anatomy and physiology. She is devoted to her students and to her fellow faculty and has served as chair of the Faculty Council.
