Our esteemed Gokak Education Society was established in 1965 by Shri. Siddaram Swamiji of Savalagimath, Shri Shivand Swamiji of Arabhavimath, Shri Pavadeppa Swamiji of Maradimath and Philanthropic people like Shri D. R. Jadhav, Shri. B. S. Munavalli, Shri. S. R. Patil, Dr. A. R. Kadakol, Dr. B. C. Ajari and Dr. C. P. Pattanshetty of Gokak for the noble cause of disseminating knowledge. J.S.S. Degree Arts, Science & Commerce College (1965), a pioneer Educational Institution is affiliated to the Karnataka University, Dharwad. It has a beautiful campus of 32 acres on the slope of Mallikarjun Hill, very close to History of the Basaveshwar Circle. It is multi faculty college with nearly 1500 students running under graduate Institution programmes in Arts, Science, Commerce & Management. The college has equipped Science Laboratories like Physics Laboratory, Chemistry Laboratory and Biology Laboratory. Each laboratory is having the capacity of accommodating nearly 50 students to undertake the practical work at a time. It has also established the Computer Laboratory, possessing 40 set of systems to conduct the Practicals for all faculty students. The College is having a magnificent separate Library building worth Rs. 20 Lacs. It consists of more than 50,000 Books worth Rs. 41 Lacs. Internet and Computer system is also made available for the use of students & teaching staff.
