RSVP NOW What a pleasure it is to announce the first of what we hope is many “Direct from the Cellar” library wine auctions—hosted by the Napa Valley Vintners and pow- ered by the world’s #1 auction house: Zachys. Before we get into the fine print, we’re going to start with two important notes: there is NO BUYER’S PREMIUM on this auction, and all of the lots are fulfilled direct from the participating win- eries, which means that if you are a winning bidder, you are allowing Zachys to share your name with the winery that donated the lot(s) you won! Now that we’ve got that out of the way—a bit about the auction. The effects of both Covid-19, travel restrictions, restaurant closures and the Califor- nia wildfires have been difficult on the wine industry, but the NVV’s goals are the same as they’ve been since 1944: to champion Napa as the world’s premier wine region, and to provide leadership in solving community issues in the Napa Valley. To support the more than 550 members of Napa Valley Vintners, this auction features lots direct from the cellars of Napa Valley’s most prestigious wineries including Harlan Estate, Screaming Eagle, Opus One, Shafer Vineyards, Chappellet, Thomas Rivers Brown, Freemark Abbey, Ovid, Arietta and Stag’s Leap. All of the lots include back-vintage wines, unavailable elsewhere, and many include large format bottles, verticals of multiple vintages, and exclusive tastings (virtually or in person when allowed) of top Napa wines directly with the winemakers. At Zachys, we love the Napa Valley. We couldn’t be happier to assist with this amazing way to bring California direct to the doorstep of so many of our collector friends throughout the world. And remember—for those of you reading this from abroad, this can be a great opportunity to bring a winemaker into your home— over Zoom, of course! Have fun bidding in this amazing sale. If you are new to Zachys and have any ques- tions about bidding, email us at [email protected]. If you have any questions about the lots, or about fulfillment email [email protected].
