MEDIA ADVISORY PATRONS ATTENDING 2019 INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONS CUP SINGAPORE ADVISED TO ARRIVE EARLY, TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORT Enhanced crowd management measures will be implemented around the National Stadium Singapore, 15 July 2019 – Enhanced entry screening measures will be implemented around the National Stadium in view of the expected crowd capacity for the International Champions Cup (ICC) matches on the weekend of 20 and 21 July 2019. Patrons are, thus, advised to arrive at least one hour before kick-off and take public transport to the Singapore Sports Hub. For ease of entry into our venue, patrons are advised to check the gate numbers on their tickets before coming to the Singapore Sports Hub and proceed to the nearest security check point (see table below). The 100PLUS Promenade encircling the National Stadium will not be accessible to public from 2:30pm onwards for both matches. To expedite security checks, patrons should note the following: • No storage facilities will be provided • Do not bring luggage bags, bags exceeding 35cm x 20cm x 30cm, air horns, loud hailers, large banners, and selfie sticks; these are prohibited • To facilitate security checks: Avoid bringing bulky items and only bring what is needed • For quicker clearance: Avoid bringing bags (“No Bags Lane” set up for fast entry) • To support the clubs: Purchase merchandise from official merchandise booth at Fan Zone only There will be a “No Bags Lane” at each security check point for quicker entry. Singapore Sports Hub reserves the right to refuse entry to any person who does not comply with security check requests. Road closure notice for National Day Parade 2019 (20 July 2019) There will be a road closure affecting drivers exiting the Singapore Sports Hub post-20 July ICC game between Manchester United and Inter Milan. Nicoll Highway Southbound will be closed from 9am to midnight for National Day Parade rehearsals. Drivers taking the southbound route to the city will have to plan alternatives routes. Those planning to take private hire vehicles (PHV) i.e. Grab are advised to head to pick-up point B (Map of pick-up & drop-off points in Annex B). While pick-up point A is available that day, PHV passengers may experience longer travel times because of point A’s proximity to Nicoll Highway. Closure of Carpark 5 at Leisure Kallang Park A section of Carpark 5 at Leisure Park Kallang is permanently closed with effect from 24 June 2019, (Map of carpark in Annex C). Patrons are encouraged to leave their cars at home and take public transport via bus or MRT to the matches. The Singapore Sports Hub seeks the public’s understanding for these crowd safety and security measures. Information is subject to change.
