This needs to be addressd by MS. I am running windows 10 pro and the update assistant seems to say everything is ok. I have even run the update repair tool (several times) and no go. I am trying to upgarde from version 15063 to 16299 and after the load and verification, the actual install sticks at 45% and eventually drops out with the message that 'windows could not configure one or meore devices. to install windows, restart etc. And, after all of this, once the prior version is reinstalled, the upgrade process reinitiates and it happens all over again. I finally got some advice as to how to turn this off. This is an ugly solution in that new security patches will be stopped. I am hoping that my Norton Security Suite will suffice, and that someone at Microsoft will address this without too much technical mumbo-jumbo. MS really needs to troubleshoot it's upgrade process to inform users what bump in the road an upgrade may have hit (NOT the system logs please) and make sure that in 99.999% of the attempts, problems can be corrected during the upgrade process!!
