When the first medical dramas were broadcasted, the main characters were good, peaceful, intelligent, competent, empathic, and successful physicians. One of the most famous, even outside the US, was Marcus Welby M.D. (1969-1976) of David Victor –which this year marks 50 years since its first emission. This depiction began to change in the mid-1990s. While maintaining the over positive image of medical doctors, TV series started to put more emphasis on their negative characteristics and difficulties in their interpersonal relationships, such asER (TV) by Michael Crichton (United States) and House MD (TV) by David Shore (United States). In these series, physicians were portrayed as arrogant, greedy, and adulterous, and their diagnostic and therapeutic errors were exposed. The last two series are The Good Doctor (TV) by David Shore (United States), with a resident of surgery with autism and Savant syndrome, and The Resident (TV) by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore and Roshan Sethi (United States), where serious institutional problems appear.

    ‘ALWAYS & FOREVER’ CAST BIOS BARBARA EDEN (Mary Anderson) – Barbara Eden, everyone’s favorite ‘Jeannie,’ is one of America’s most endearing and enduring stars. Her NBC series, “I Dream of Jeannie,” has been airing globally for more than three decades and is currently seen on the TV Land cable network 14 times weekly and in syndication throughout the world. In April, Eden went on the road, hosting productions of “Ballroom with a Twist,” the new ground-breaking show that stars rotating celebrity emcees and dancers from “Dancing with the Stars.” She also guest-starred in a recurring role on Lifetime’s popular “Army Wives” series and, just before that, essayed a guest star role on ABC’s “George Lopez.” She recently taped interviews with Sean Hannity on “Hannity” and with Bill O’Reilly on “The O’Reilly Factor,” both on Fox, on “Martha Stewart,” and with “Good Morning America” and “The View” on ABC. Everyone who makes this city vibrant, inclusive, and ever-changing was bringing to life Shakespeare’s plays (on stage and in the audience) in a way I’d never seen before: the classics made uniquely contemporary; unrivaled artistry in an informal environment; people as diverse on stage as off; every walk of life, ages, backgrounds, families, dates, friends—gathered to experience the power and importance of live theater. Every summer brings with it the excitement of being back in the park to see this work and to be together. Rain and winds can sweep litter and trash that has been improperly disposed of into the ocean. Once in the water, plastic debris absorbs toxic pollutants, never fully biodegrades, and is harmful to marine life.
