In this workshop, you’ll learn how to (1) set priori- ties and keep them, (2) squeeze five hours of school into two, (3) write a log book entry, (4) document academics, extracurricular activities, and life learning into your log book, (5) create a portfolio, and (6) figure GPAs for transcripts. Teaching without Textbooks The best curriculum is not necessarily a textbook expecially if your child has difficulty with traditional schoolwork, is advancing academically faster than “normal,” or has specific career goals. This work- shop will help you to think “out of the box” when choosing (or using your current) curriculum. You’ll learn how to use alternative resources to creat your own multi-level lesson plans that will take advantage of your child’s specific interests, abilities, and learning styles. You may even save money in the process! Vocational and Ministry Training for Teens presented by God created each child for a specific purpose in his or her generation. Many parents make the mistake of overlooking their child’s God-given gifts and strengths in order to focus on “what every 5th (6th, etc.) grader needs to know” or they assume that every child is called to be a doctor, lawyer, or teacher. The real question is: What is the Lord calling your child to do?
