St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Community A Message from the Pastor April 13, 2020

Dear Parishioners, I hope your celebration of the Resurrection that occurred two millennia ago was filled with the peace of the triumphant as you gathered, at least in spirit and thought, with those you love.

Having experienced the of Resurrection and the , what do we do now? We put the Resurrection to work in our lives. Just as the Holy Women who feared the loss of (again) in witnessing the empty tomb. They bravely ran from the tomb toward “new life.” and Mary did not remain timidly in fear and sorrow burrowing their head in their laps. Instead, they sprang into action. Fearful, yes! May our days of living in a manner not suited to human relationship spur us into action to discover “new ways of living.” Just as Jesus came to message a people who refused to change their ways and open their eyes, may the power of this holy season enlighten the hearts and minds of those who still live in darkness. Or, worse yet, stay at the foot of the cross and do nothing to move into the new life the resurrection offers.

May we continue the journey, never remaining the same, but always allowing the Holy Spirit alive within the living Body of Christ, the .

Happy Easter! He is Risen! Alleluia!

Fr. Mark
