Bible Story Discussion GOD'S PROMISE TO ABRAHAM God is Faithful! Let's Get Started Episode Theme: Worshiping God- God Calls His People. 1. Luke 1:37 says that nothing is impossible for God. He has done amazing things! Can you think of something amazing that God has done for you ? 2. Abraham and Sarah were very old and didn’t have any children, which made them both very sad. One day they had some special visitors come who told them some shockingly impossible news! As you listen to this episode, think about how nothing is impossible for God. Memory Verse “Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” Genesis 18:14 After You Listen There are many occasions in the Bible when things seemed impossible. The story of Abraham and Sarah shows that nothing is impossible for God. He had promised Abraham that he would have so many descendants that he would be the father of many nations. But, at an old age, Abraham and Sarah still did not have any children. It seemed out of the question. But God showed his power by making the unthinkable a reality. He gave Abraham and Sarah the gift of a baby boy named Isaac. Genesis 18:14 says, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” There may be many times when things seem impossible in your life. You can take comfort knowing that with God, nothing is impossible! He knows what you need, he is powerful, and he loves you! God can help you do some big things or change something that needs to be changed! Make a list of some changes that you need to make or some things you need to do. These things might seem hard or even impossible. But with prayer and God’s help with your actions, it can be done. Share your list with an adult and ask them what some of his or her “Mission Possible” items are. Together, pray and ask for God’s help with these things. Take the Episode Quiz Question 1: Why were Abraham and Sarah sad? Answer: They had no children. Question 2: Why did Sarah laugh when she heard what the visitors said? Answer: She was very old and didn’t believe she could have a baby. Question 3: What did God promise Abraham? Answer: God would make Abraham the father of many nations and that Abraham’s offspring would be as many as the stars. Question 4: What happened the following year?
