Map Features: Annotation 1: Stanley & Stanley common Comment text: I feel the current proposals to merge Stanley Village with Little Eaton would damage the local community. Little Eaton has nothing in common with Stanley. With reference to the new ward guidance notes on the lgbce website - Transport links: - There are no public transport links between Stanley Village and Little Eaton. Residents of Little Eaton would have no need to travel anywhere near Stanley to reach areas such as Derby, Nottingham, Ripley, Belper, M1 or A38. Exactly the same can be said for residents of Stanley. For the same destinations we would not travel through Little Eaton. Community groups: - Nothing in common with Little Eaton, There is however plenty of community groups that represent both Stanley village and Stanley Common. Facilities: - No facilities are shared at all with Little Eaton - Facilities (Schools, shops, pubs, post offices, medical center, etc) are shared mostly between Stanley Village, Stanley Common and West Hallam. Anyone from Stanley needing to use larder shops would travel to Ilkeston, Derby or Nottingham. Anyone from Little Eaton would travel to Duffield, Belper or Derby for further amenities. Interests: - No common interests at all with Little Eaton. Stanley Village and Stanley common however historical interests dating back centuries. I would like to add the fact that Stanley and Little Eaton are in different towns. Little Eaton is Derby, Stanley is Ilkeston Stanley has a different telephone area code to Little Eaton. Local newspapers to Little Eaton cover Derby and Belper, whereas Stanley is covered by Ilkeston newspapers. Stanley is a traditional mining area with close links to Ilkeston, West Hallam, Stanley Common and other local mining communities. Unlike Little Eaton and Breadsall. Identifiable boundaries: A dual carriageway (A38) separates Stanley and Little Eaton. There is no geographical connection between the two areas. Introduction 1.1. Ashfield, Broxtowe, Erewash, Gedling, Nottingham City and Rushcliffe Councils are working jointly in order to prepare evidence to support the emerging aligned Core Strategies and Local Development Frameworks within their districts. Nottinghamshire County Council is assisting in this work. Part of the evidence base will be to inform the authorities about suitable settlements for the location of appropriate levels of development. 1.2. The aim of any spatial development strategy is to ensure that new development takes place at the appropriate scale in the most sustainable settlements. Most development should be concentrated within those settlements with the largest range of shops and services with more limited development within local service centres and villages.

A parishioner was unhappy with the wording of minute number 18/107 from the June minutes (See item 18/128 no changes made) 18/126 Apologies None 18/127 Declaration of Members Interests None 18/128 Approval of Minutes It was resolved that the minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on 19.6.18 should be approved and were signed by the Chairman. Stanley and Stanley Common Parish Council Minutes of a meeting of the Stanley and Stanley Common Parish Council held on Wednesday, 22 January 2020 at 7:00pm in the Bartram Centre, The Crescent, Stanley Common, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 6GL Present: Councillors P Carroll, M Cheetham MBE (Chairman), A Garton, V Harvey, R Seymour, J Smith and C Tomlinson In Attendance: Councillors C Hart (DCC and Erewash BC), A Stevenson (Erewash BC) and Mrs S Doherty (Parish Clerk) Members of the public: 25 2019/149 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE There were no apologies from Parish Council members however Borough Councillors D Cox and A Summerfield wished their apologies to be conveyed to the Parish Council. 2019/150 DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTS There were no declarations of interest made. 2019/151 CHAIRMAN’S ANNOUNCEMENTS There were no announcements, however the Chairman wished everyone a Happy New Year and welcomed them to the first Parish Council meeting of the year. 2019/152 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION SESSION Members of the public present had come to the meeting following the publication of the Erewash Borough Council’s Core Strategy consultation. This was not an agenda item for the Parish Council, however, Councillor C Hart was present and gave a brief talk on the matter and took questions. The Chairman extended the public participation session upto 20 minutes to enable parishioners time to question Councillor Hart. Councillor Hart assured that this document was in its initial consultation stage and would take at least 2-3 years before it was finalised and approved. Members of the public were urged to put forward their comments and concerns to the Borough Council.
