Our agreement with WSVS will allow us to bring exciting action to the Farmville area and beyond with internet broadcasts.” WSVS 800 AM has been serving Southside Virginia since 1948 and has yet to change its format: Traditional Classic Country. WSVS has kept the All-American conservative approach to programming by serving a loyal and responsive audience. WSVS operates with 5000 watts which serves a potential audience of over 400,000. ‘Keep it local, keep it lively, and keep it happy’ is the stalwart of a successful radio station, and WSVS feels with the addition of an affilia- tion with Longwood University women’s basketball, the excitement is just beginning. “The entire staff is excited about WSVS and Longwood forming this women’s basketball partnership and we all look forward to a long relationship,” said Howard Keller, Operating Manager of the Gee Communications outlet in Crewe. “Broadcasting both home and away games is important to the station and its vast coverage area and listen- ership. It reinforces the continuity that has made the station great. We thrive on the new, the different, the refresh- ing aura of college sports that’s nearby. What an addition to our station to be able to offer to our listeners Longwood University women’s basketball.” Longwood’s 16-game broadcast schedule on WSVS, AM 800 The Train will also be available over the telephone line via TEAMLINE at costs as low as 10-cents per minute charged to your credit card.
