The new partnership will bring some of the most exciting prospects in the game to Blue Wahoos Stadium alongside the storied legacy of Twins baseball. Twins history began in 1961 when Washington Senators president Calvin Griffith made the historic decision to move his family’s team to the Midwest, settling on the Minneapolis/St. Paul area in Minnesota. The new team was named after the state’s famous Twin Cities and began their inaugual season with a talented roster featuring Harmon Killebrew, Bob Allison, Camilo Pascual, and Jim Lemon. Homegrown talents Jim Kaat, Zoilo Versalles, Jimmie Hall, and Tony Oliva combined with the Twins already potent nucleus to make the team a force to be reckoned with in the 1960s. -

College of Music & Dramatic Arts Dean Position Profile
SEARCH PROFILE Dean of the College of Music & Dramatic Arts CONTENTS Welcome Message 1 LSU Facts 2 Position and Overview 3 The Flagship Campus 6 LSU Values Diversity 8 The Setting—Baton Rouge 9 Application and Contact Information 10 SEARCH PROFILE Welcome Message A MESSAGE FROM THE INTERIM PROVOST Dear Candidate, Thank you for your interest in the dean of the College of Music & Dramatic Arts position at Louisiana State University (LSU). I would like to take some time to share why you should consider this position in the next step of your career and why you should call LSU home. I have worked at LSU for 19 years, and I have never been more optimistic about our future than I am now. You may wonder how that is even possible in year 2021, so please allow me to elaborate. While all of higher education has experienced challenges during the pandemic, LSU’s response has been inspiring. Our success is due, in large part, to our strategic priorities: recruiting, retention, online learning, research, building a diverse, equitable and inclusive campus, and philanthropic support. The next dean of the College of Music & Dramatic Arts will have the opportunity to capitalize on that success and relentless determination to succeed. We are looking for a candidate who understands it requires collaboration and commitment to realize bold and ambitious goals. Our fall 2020 freshman class set new records for enrollment, academic achievement, and diversity, and we expect that trajectory to continue in to fall 2021. Our achievement would have been amazing in a normal year, but in 2020, it was remarkable. -
Rod Dedeaux ˨ the Architect of Usc Baseball R Rod
RODRRODOD DEDEAUXDDEDEAUXEDEAUX ˨˨ THETTHEHE ARCHITECTAARCHITECTRCHITECT OOFOFF UUSCUSCSC BBASEBALLBASEBALLASEBALL On January 5, 2006, the USC baseball program suff ered the loss of Rod Dedeaux, one of the greatest college coaches ever, who passed away at the age of 91. Not only was Dedeaux the main architect for the success of the USC baseball program, but also one of the great ambassadors for college baseball and amateur baseball in international competition. In his 45-year tenure at USC (1942-86), Dedeaux led the Trojans to 11 national championships and 28 conference titles. He posted an overall record of 1,332-571-11 for a superb .699 winning percentage. At his retirement, he had won more games than any other college baseball coach (he currently ranks seventh among Division I coaches). His teams from 1970-74 won fi ve straight NCAA championships, a record that may never be broken. No other school has won more than two in a row. Two personal honors for Dedeaux, which are quite fi tting considering his accomplishments, came in 1999 when he was named “Coach of the Century” by both Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball. As part of the 50th anniversary of the College World Series in 1996, Dedeaux was named the head coach of the All-Time CWS team by a panel of former World Series coaches, media and college baseball offi cials. In 1999, he was presented with keys to the city of Omaha (home to the College World Series). Dedeaux was named Coach of the Year six times by the American Baseball Coaches Association and was inducted into the organization’s Hall of Fame in 1970. -
