A delta is the triangular-shaped deposit of sediments that build up at the mouth of a river as it flows into a body of water. ∆ is used in mathematics and physics to mean 'change'. The flow velocity of a river changes [slows] dramatically as it reaches a lake--resulting in deltaic deposits of gravel, sand and silt. In a broader context, changes and/or improvements in understanding the aquifer and how it should be managed are the ultimate goals of this aquifer management planning process. The blue and beige colours (darker and lighter shades) within the triangle represent the water and deposits that comprise the aquifer. The vertical blue line extending below the triangle represents the wells that are drilled into the aquifer. The horizontal blue line represents the streams that flow across and through the aquifer. Cover: Aerial view of Devils Punchbowl in Spruce Woods Provincial Park (March 31, 2004). Water seeps from the aquifer, fills the bowl (foreground) and feeds a small, tree-lined stream that flows to the Assiniboine River. Home Sick To night I lay dreaming Of a place far a way. With my heart a longing To go back some day, Of a little log cabin On a snow fed stream. Where the mountain sides All scarlet and a gleam. Oh to hear and to see Winging ducks in the sky. And all through the night Hear the lonesome coyotes cry. By a camp fire bright And hunting out in the fall. From a way out there comes The bull moose’s call. It’s the end of a perfect day The sun’s sinking in the west. And the trout are leaping high That’s the time I love best. My heart stays in the Yukon With a love that lingers on and on. To soon the morning comes Then my dreams fade and are gone. J.C. The oldest City in England lis London. London was largely carved out of the oldest county in England, Kent, and we have records of Wilkinsons in Kent as early as the ye~r 650 A. D. The Durham Wilkinsons were a branch of the Kentish family. If you will look at the map of England you will see that Durha1n is in the_ N. E~, not far from the Scutch border, and that whole border land was simply one seething hell for hundreds of years due to the various Wars and Raids that continued for at least 500 years, and did not come to an end unti! M'arie Stuart's son who became King of Scotland, was made King of England because of his Tudor Grand mother,. who was the sister to Henry VIII. Due to this border warfare, thousands of sturdy Scots and English moved into Ulster, north Ireland, where they were joined by ho1·des of French Huguenots. Londonderry was the Protestant Capitol of the World for many years, and if it had not been for the Battle of the Boyne, fought near Londonderry, when the entire Stuart (or Catholic Army) was defeated by the Protestant Armies variou::;ly led by Huguenots, English, Scots and the like under the general leadership of King William III ( then King on the English throne and himself the Prince of Orange), they would be living there now.
