Obituaries - January 2002 January 1, 2002 Frank S. Kaiser 1928-2001 HOISINGTON - Frank S. Kaiser, 73, died Dec. 30 at Integrated Health Services of Great Bend. He was born April 19, 1928, in Beaver, the son of Englebert and Anna Reif Kaiser. He married Helen M. Prosser Oct. 10, 1950, in Odin. A lifetime resident of Hoisington, he operated and managed the Hoisington Dairy Queen for 18 years and was account representative for Apparel Master for 14 years before retiring in 1993. Kaiser was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, member and past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7428 and American Legion Post 286, all of Hoisington. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Cletus Kaiser of Olathe and Timothy Kaiser of Wichita; one daughter, Gina Streetman of Great Bend; two brothers, Tony Kaiser of Bushton and Edward Kaiser of Hoisington; one sister, Rose Riedel of Ellinwood; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe Kaiser, Lawrence Kaiser, Louie Kaiser, John Kaiser and Walter Kaiser; and five sisters, Sister Rita Kaiser, Sister Bertran Kaiser, Margaret Rabenseifner, Theresa Nather, Leona Stuart and Eleanor Schwartz. Vigil service, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Pascal Klein officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Hoisington with military graveside rites being performed by American Legion and VFW posts, both of Hoisington. Friends may call until 9 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, all at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the church, American Heart Association or American Cancer Society, all in care of the funeral home. Great Bend (Kan.) Tribune, Jan. 1, 2002 Richard D. Kinderknecht 1927-2001 COLBY - Richard D. Kinderknecht, 74, formerly of Ellis, died Dec. 30 at Hays Medical Center in Hays. He was born Dec. 12, 1927, at a farm north of Ellis, the son of Jacob and Otillia Bittel Kinderknecht. He married Anna Rita Brungardt Oct. 14, 1952, in Ellis. A resident of Colby, he retired from the power plant in Colby as a mechanic in 1993. Kinderknecht was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colby, lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9139 and American Legion, all of Colby. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include three sons, Daniel Kinderknecht of Chandler, Ariz., Floyd Kinderknecht of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Brian Kinderknecht of Wichita; two daughters, Carol Schryer of Manhattan and Anita Fisher of Hays; four brothers, Walter Kinderknecht of Kimball, Neb., Ralph Kinderknecht and Alan Kinderknecht, both of Ellis, and Victor Kinderknecht of WaKeeney; two sisters, Beatina Weber of Great Bend and Ione Dinkel of Ellis; nine grandchildren; and five step- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Kinderknecht, Herman Kinderknecht and Charles Kinderknecht; and two sisters, Regina Goff and Lillian Wishnuck. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis, with the Rev. Galen Long officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ellis with military graveside honors being performed by American Legion and VFW, both of Hays. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Hays and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church in Ellis. Memorials are suggested to VFW National Home in Michigan, in care of the funeral home. Great Bend (Kan.) Tribune, Jan. 1, 2002 Louise T. Snyder 1903-2001 PALM HARBOR, Fla. - Louise T. Snyder, 98, died Dec. 28 at St. Mark's Village in Palm Harbor. She was born in 1903 in Forrest City, Ark. A resident of Palm Harbor since 1970, coming from Great Bend, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Episcopalian church, PEO Womens Club, numerous bridge clubs and Athenian Club, all in Great Bend, and Pi Beta Phi of University of Arkansas. Survivors include two daughters, Anne Rydeen of South Salem, N.Y., and Patricia Trebilox of Kansas City; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Tribune, Jan. 1, 2002 January 2, 2002 Delmar Emanuel Brack 1929-2001 Delmar Emanuel Brack, 72, of Great Bend, died Dec. 29 at his residence. He was born March 11, 1929, in Otis, the son of Emanuel H. and Dorothy Seidl Brack. A resident of Great Bend since 1989, coming from Wichita, he worked as a stock material handler for Cessna Air Craft. Brack was a member of First Church of God in Great Bend, Cessna Employer¹s Club and International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Survivors include one son, Craig Brack of Wichita; one brother, Glenn J. Brack of Hoisington; and one sister, Eunice M. Dreher of Great Bend. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph D. Brack, Alvin M. Brack, Clarence J. Brack and infant Vernon J. Brack; and one sister, Margie D. Kopke. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Revs. Dick Ogle and Tom Swain officiating. Burial will be at Hoisington Cemetery in Hoisington. Beverly Jane Thoreson 1952-2001 Beverly Jane Thoreson, 49, of Great Bend, died Dec. 31 in Great Bend. She was born July 3, 1952, in Dodge City, the daughter of Bernard R. and Esther R. Kehr Wear. She was a graduate of Great Bend High School. A resident of Great Bend for 1 1/2 years, coming from Englewood, Colo., she worked at Qwest. She was a member of South Surburban Christian Church in Littleton, Colo. and attended First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend. Survivors include one son, Matthew Thoreson of Littleton; one daughter, Lyndsay Thoreson of Great Bend; her mother of Great Bend; one brother, Byrl Wear of El Dorado; five sisters, Betty Naylor of Kansas City, Mo., Barbara Abrahamson of Kinsley, Berdyna Proctor of Plattsburg, Mo., Bonita Jamieson of Great Bend and Belynda Simbala of Colleyville, Texas; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Benjamin R. Wear, Vyrl Wear and Earl Wear. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church in Great Bend, with the Revs. Dwight Dozier and Emanuel Kehr officiating. Burial will be at Dundee Valley Cemetery in Dundee. Friends may call until 9 tonight, from 9 a.m. until noon Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend and from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at the church in Great Bend. Morrow 1909-2001 GARFIELD - Agda P. Morrow, 92, died Dec. 27 at Salina Regional Health Center, Santa Fe Campus in Salina. She was born May 14, 1909, in Pawnee County, the daughter of Carl and Hulda Berglund Pearson. She married Ross N. Morrow Nov. 14, 1930, in Manhattan. He died Dec. 28, 1984. A lifetime resident of Pawnee County, she worked as an assistant postmaster and as a bookkeeper for Garfield Co-op. Mrs. Morrow was a member of United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, both in Garfield and Order of the Eastern Star in Larned. Survivors include one son, Norman Morrow of Salina; one daughter, Jeanie Siler of Lawrence; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Audrey Wells; four brothers, Alex Pearson, Chester Pearson, Ernest Pearson and Eddie Pearson; and one sister, Ethel Nelson. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned, with the Rev. Charles Grant officiating. Burial will be at Garfield Cemetery in Garfield. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time, all at the mortuary. Stiles 1908-2001 EUREKA SPRINGS, Ark. - Milburn E. Stiles, 93, died Dec. 31 in Springdale, Ark. He was born June 12, 1908, in Golden, Mo., the son of William and Dora Hill Stiles. He married Alice Phillips. She preceded him in death. He married Helen Brutchin. She also preceded him in death. A resident of Eureka Springs, he worked as a school custodian. Stiles attended the Methodist church. Survivors include four sons, Paul Stiles of Berryville, Mo, Bob Stiles of Great Bend, Joy Stiles of Harrington and Don Stiles of Parker, Colo.; three daughters, Faye Farwell of Eureka Springs, Louise Phillips of Humansville, Mo., and Wanda Shields of Lakewood, Colo.; three brothers, Clarence Stiles of Gailsburg, Ill., George Stiles of Milwaukee, Ore., and Ralph Stiles of Ripley, Okla.; one sister, Gladys Nance of Cassville, Mo.; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Ray Stiles and Lonnie Stiles; one daughter, May Stiles; one brother; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Charles M.
