Founded in 1856, Albright celebrates more than a century and a half of a rich academic heritage in the liberal arts and a dynamic, welcoming and collaborative campus community. With 1,660 traditional undergraduate students, Albright is able to offer a 13:1 student/faculty ratio, close student/faculty relationships and an em- phasis on the whole individual. Classes are small and interactive, giving students extraordinary opportunities to get to know their professors and to engage in hands-on research and creative opportunities with them. As a national liberal arts college, Albright offers 50 programs of undergraduate study, ranging from accounting to theatre, that are grounded in a common curriculum instilling lifelong skills in communication, critical thinking, adaptability and a love of learning. Albright is also a national leader in interdis- ciplinary education, offering a broad range of interdisciplinary programs including digital media, information systems, optics, Latin American studies, psycho- biology, biochemistry and environmental studies, as well as combined concentrations such as music/business. More than half of all students at Albright opt for combined or interdisciplinary majors—and still graduate in four years. In fact, in any given year, students create more than 200 different combinations of majors. In addition, Albright’s long tradition of excellence in the natural sciences and pre-professional programs continues to prepare graduates for medical, dental and veterinary school. An Albright liberal arts education—the foundation for which lies in a course of study that combines breadth and depth—helps students to expand their horizons, discover new perspectives and connect the dots among disciplines. While it lays the foundation for a future career, it also produces well-round- ed, well-informed graduates with a wide skill set, graduates who will thrive in today’s ever-changing world. Explore Everything Albright Has to Offer While academics are a priority, co-curricular activities also provide opportunities for growth and play a significant role in producing a well-rounded graduate. Participation in campus activities and events can develop and strengthen leadership, creativity, talents, self-expression and refinement of lifelong skills. Students are encouraged to take part in the nearly 70 student organizations, 23 varsity sports and the many diverse social, cultural and spiritual events on campus. Community service is also embedded in the Albright culture. Albright’s Volunteer Center serves as a clearinghouse for community service projects and connects students and agencies. Each year, Albright students log some 15,000 volunteer hours. Students at Albright also have access to outstanding teaching, research, social, cultural and TABLE OF CONTENTS religious resources and facilities. Quick Facts 1 The F.
