Reader's Companion to Cat-Tales What's New Pussycat “Find some evidence” As referenced in the companion to CATFIGHT, the famous “Find some evidence” Batman-Catwoman encounter on the roof of a mall occurred in Photo Finish in The Batman Chronicles #9. It is referenced several times in the Tales, both for the telling nature of Batman’s behavior (see Catfight companion) and also because it marks the first meeting of Dick and Barbara and the first Robin/Batgirl teamup. Nocturna and Thief of the Night I didn’t invent them, honest. Anton was introduced in Detective Comics #529, Nocturna was revealed as the brains behind him in Batman #363. Most of Natasha’s purple prose I took verbatim. Anton’s operatic outbursts of temper are also well-grounded in the originals. At one point Doug Moench had Batman reflect that he couldn’t seem to stay away from Nocturna, and I believe that statement was taken straight from Doug’s own heart because he certainly kept going back to her over and over again, issue after issue, couldn’t seem to resist despite fans tiring of her incessant appearances. Well think about it, how often does a writer get a chance to put together phrases like “humming a tune never meant for the sun, she goes forth to ride the breath of midnight” (translation: she got in her balloon) Natasha (sometimes called Natalie or Natalia) and Anton were certainly a couple, and were clearly intended to be a married couple. But presumably somebody at DC had a problem with Batman’s love interest being someone else’s wife, so we have the somewhat oddball revelation that they are half- brother and sister, explaining the same last name. Whatever. Nocturna finally perished at Anton’s hands in Batman 391, in a show of histrionics that well justifies his characterization in Cat-Tales as having outbursts of temper seldom seen outside of grand opera. AzBat’s Finest Hour Or “How Pheromones got his name” - I didn’t make that up either. Yep, and this as Selina pointed out thought he could be Batman. .

CCSBT-ERS/1203/Info18 Ecological Risk Management REPORT FOR THE EASTERN TUNA AND BILLFISH FISHERY May 2009 CCSBT-ERS/1203/Info18 Summary of priority issues for managing the ecological effects of fishing in the ETBF The Ecological Risk Assessment (ERA) process was designed to assess and rank the ecological effects of fishing in Commonwealth fisheries. The process provided a list of species, habitats and ecological communities that are at risk of ecological damage from the effects of fishing. This Ecological Risk Management (ERM) report provides how AFMA will respond to these high risk environmental components. The ecological effects of fishing in the Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery (ETBF) are largely due to the incidental capture of non-target species (including the capture of protected species). The methods of fishing employed in the ETBF (pelagic longline, handline, trolling, polling and rod and reel) were found to have little to no direct impact on the physical marine environment. The ETBF is a fishery which targets tuna and tuna-like species; however historical observer and logbook data show that around 103 species are taken, many in small amounts, each year. AFMA aims to implement measures which ensure that the take of commercial species is sustainable and minimises the interactions and mortality of species that are not commercially utilised. The ERA process analysed the effect of commercial fishing in the ETBF, based on the effects on all organisms (protected species, bycatch, byproduct and target species), habitats and ecological communities that occur in the area of the fishery. The highest level of assessment conducted on the ETBF was a quantitative Level 3 assessment.

CAT-TALES WWHAT’’S NNEW PPUSSYCAT?? CAT-TALES WWHAT’’S NNEW PPUSSYCAT?? By Chris Dee Edited by David L. COPYRIGHT © 2002 BY CHRIS DEE ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. BATMAN, CATWOMAN, GOTHAM CITY, ET AL CREATED BY BOB KANE, PROPERTY OF DC ENTERTAINMENT, USED WITHOUT PERMISSION WHAT’S NEW PUSSYCAT Bruce Wayne entered the Iceberg Lounge with a far less certain gait than usual. It was only three in the afternoon, but the fact that the notorious underworld watering hole was empty did nothing to make the experience of going there, out of costume but not with Selina, any less bizarre. He couldn’t have said with certainty why he had gone. When Sly, the only bartender Penguin managed to keep longer than three weeks or three brawls, had called asking him to drop in if he had a free half-hour, Bruce only said he’d try in order to be polite. He had no conscious intention of doing so. And yet he scheduled that lunch with Rodgers and Gonzales at a downtown restaurant that was quite nearby. While he didn’t rush the meeting, neither had he lingered over coffee or hurried back to the office afterwards. Now he was there, sitting at the bar while Sly stacked glasses and explained his problem… Maybe that was it. Sly had a problem and, unlike another young man who shall remain nameless, Sly actually wanted Bruce’s advice. That was worth rushing a meeting for, wasn’t it? Both Bruce Wayne and Batman knew the nature of Sly’s problem already, for the Gotham rumor mill was a force unto itself.
