First and foremost, the current orders must now be processed and produced, which is why we have to do without a package of “trade fair specials” this year. Along with the 05–06/2021 releases, no new passenger car models will be offered yet. In the course of 2021, we will still offer a new, current passenger car in two different versions, about which, however, we can currently not give any more specific information. Furthermore, two more classic passenger car models are in the pipeline, but they will probably not be released until the beginning of 2022. With the 05–06/2021 and 07– 08/2021 releases, we will expand our passenger car program with new colors for existing models. The range of emergency vehicles keeps being supplemented by sought-after models from all sectors, which also goes for the line of MiniKits. Currently, the Volkswagen T6 coronavirus vehicle used in Bavaria is also produced in a one-time edition. 8 New Releases May / June 2021 The focus of the May/June releases at Herpa in 2021 will be on utility vehicles. In this segment, we are starting the year with a number of new types. After the MAN of the 03– 04/2021 releases, the Mercedes-Benz Arocs 6×4 now appears with a loading crane and rear support, which is also feasible as an Actros. A striking feature are the upward pointing outriggers on the loading crane, which can, of course, be extended. For use, these supports have to be pulled out on the Herpa model, then turned 180°, and finally reinserted. At the rear, the supports are also extendable. A limited edition of the Mercedes-Benz Arocs model of the company Scholpp with a flatbed trailer and a solo tractor will remain in the collection. This model will be available later in other colors, after it has been sold off, with the same item number plus an appendix. 9 New Releases May / June 2021 Another addition is the new MAN TGX GX as a heavy-duty tractor. In this case, the new cab was not only placed on the existing chassis, but a new bumper and register coupling were also designed. The new register coupling in the open version is included with every model to be exchanged, the closed version is generally fitted. Furthermore, we will deliver the facelift versions of the new Volvo FH in the middle of the year. For the large Volvo FH 16, there will in future be the basic configuration with black radiator grille, as well as the exclusive version with a new, silver radiator grille, as well as mirrors and bumper in cab color. As for the Volvo FH Gl. and FH Gl. XL, there will be the basic configuration with bumper and mirrors in gray, the extended version with its radiator grille in cab color, mirrors and bumper in gray, and the maximum configuration (not yet announced) with radiator grille, bumper, and mirrors in cab color. We have also integrated the new Vögele 1900-3i road finisher into the new releases. Initially, the model will appear as a load in Max Bögl’s design with a delivery date of August 2021; at the end of the year, the model will then be released in Vögele’s factory colors. The screeds on the road finisher can be pulled out to the side at the rear, and the chutes folded in at the front in the transport version can also be folded out. The model comes with a raised roof for the operational version, the roof of the transport version is mounted. 10 New Releases May / June 2021 11 New Releases May / June 2021 The new Iveco S-Way will join the range of the latest tractor units at Herpa, thus completing the truck program. Now, all well-known brands in the truck sector are represented at Herpa. The driver’s cab has been completely redesigned, while the chassis has been adopted from the Iveco Stralis XP and NP, just like the original. 12 New Releases May / June 2021 In the truck segment, we will continue to try to serve all countries and regions equally in the future. New is the log transporter with a Volvo chassis and a low cab, which comes in a black-and-red color scheme without any company imprints. Another highlight will certainly be the classic semitrailer truck from the company Lechner Trans in South Tyrol, which still exists today. With the model 313490, we will introduce the vehicle of the social media influencer “German Truck Driver” Kai Nussbaumer, who campaigns for the interests of truck drivers on YouTube with his videos, and is well-known all across Germany. With the truck highlight in June 2021, we are also focusing on the new type, the new Iveco S-Way, which is being operated by the Italian shipping company Perrotti. 13 013864 MiniKit Volkswagen Crafter food truck, white The new food truck from Herpa now also appears for creative customization in the Herpa program as a MiniKit in basic white. 085304 Parts service chassis Scania CR/CS heavy-duty tractor unit This chassis is suitable for building your own Scania heavy-duty tractors. Please use a cab without wind deflectors. 085311 Parts service chassis Volvo FH LNG (natural gas tank) From now on, you can also design your own Volvo FH tractors as natural-gas-powered tractors. The chassis has the new natural-gas tank on the left side, and comes without a chassis covering, just like the original. 085328 Parts service chassis for MAN 6×4 tractors with loading crane The well-known three-axle MAN TGS/TGX Euro 6c chassis supplements the parts service with the mount for the loading crane behind the cab as well as the required rear support. 085335 Parts service chassis for Mercedes-Benz 6×4 tractor with loading crane This set is suitable for building Mercedes-Benz 6×4 tractors with a loading crane and rear support. The required crane mount and rear support are included in the set. 096065 Wartburg 353 `66 Trans Fortschritt Service In the blue color scheme, the Wartburg Trans of the 66 series was also on the road for VEB Kombinat Progress in the area of agricultural machinery service. The later series was then used with a green body. 096072 VW Tiguan „Feuerwehr Kassel“ The current Volkswagen Tiguan is used as an operational command vehicle by the Kassel fire brigade. Herpa adds this model to the series of vehicles of Kassel’s professional fire department. 096089 BMW 5 Series sedan Victorian Highway Patrol, black Also with black body color, the current BMW 5-Series sedan is used by the Australian police as a highway patrol vehicle. In terms of design, this vehicle differs from the white vehicle. 096096 MAN TGE bus high roof with trailer BRK water rescue Amberg/Sulzbach In the field of water rescue, the MAN TGE with a trailer, specially built by the Bavarian Red Cross, is used in the East Bavarian district of Amberg/Sulzbach. The Herpa model of the MAN TGE comes factory-equipped with a mounted trailer coupling. 096102 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter ‘18 Box NOX Overnight, with pickup by 5 pm, NOX transports urgently needed spare parts to the corresponding customers in Central, Eastern, and Northwestern Europe. The vehicles, designed with bright yellow lettering, feature a black base color. Herpa will also release a matching semitrailer truck simultaneously with this Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.

  • Ford Trucks Tractor Series
Ford Trucks Tractor Series TRUCKS Sharing the load It’s the way of the world... Wherever we travel, we long for those we leave behind. A burden shared is a burden halved. And that’s why we’re here: to share the load. To love takes strength. But it takes greater strength to leave the ones you love behind. The long journey may be fuelled with diesel, but it’s the little photo on the dashboard and our cherished memories that keep us going. We know how long the road can seem... How quickly seasons change and how children grow taller with every passing day. We transport tons of grain for the sake of a simple loaf shared among friends and loved ones. They say in business, “Your word is your bond”. When measured on a scale, what has greater weight than a promise? And when people have put their faith in you, who do you turn to? We will get there whichever way the road turns. We may carry a load, but we deliver a promise. Perhaps one day machines will carry our burdens as well as our load. But until then, we’re the ones on this road. Join us. We’re moving forward... They say “If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together...” Sharing the load... 2 3 Ford Trucks Tractor Series: Moving forward with every new feature It’s no easy feat to carry the load across long distances on international and intercity roads. It’s hard to beat the fierce competition and even harder to find a powerful companion that will share your load… Ford Trucks Tractor Series offers high performance with low fuel consumption, thanks to the powerful Ecotorq engine.

  • TIS-0012 Axle Loads and Weight Distribution
TECHNICAL INFORMATION SHEET Axle weights and load distribution 1. Introduction This Technical Information Sheet provides guidance on where to position loads on standard 13.6 m (45’) long trailers in order to satisfy legal limits for axle weights. Note: There are many variables that affect the permissible axle loads on a vehicle: • Using 2 or 3 axle tractor units • Suspension design • Position of king-pin from headboard • Tractor axle kerb weights • 5th wheel position • Distance between king-pin and tri-axle • Fuel load • Trailer length • Tri-axle spacing • Axle design limits • Trailer tare weights on • Trailer suspension type - mechanical or • Tractor unit axle spacing king-pin and tri-axle air suspension Therefore, this Technical Information Sheet can only provide guidance for typical tractor - trailer combinations. Important note: The final responsibility for meeting legal limits lies with the driver of the vehicle being used. 2. Axle weight limits Axle weight limits vary from country to country and a list of permissible maximum weight limits for the main European destinations can be found in Table 1 on page 4. • Impact of Semitrailer Tyre Pressure Upon Passive Resistance and Tractor Unit Operation Economy
Impact of semitrailer tyre pressure upon passive resistance and tractor unit operation economy P. Novák, T. Šmerda, J. Čupera Faculty of Agronomy, Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Brno, Brno, Czech Republic Abstract: The aim of the measurement was to establish and prove the effect of the semitrailer tyre pressure on the magnitude of power losses and energy intensity in a tractor unit operation. The measured and calculated values were interlaid with the corresponding functions by means of regression analysis considering the magnitude of the determi- nation coefficient (determination index). The values of the determination index ranged from 0.95 to 0.99 for regression functions; all the regression function were highly reliable at 0.01 relevance level. The difference of the lost power was recorded at the speed of 35 km/h, 1.82 kN between 170 kPa and 300 kPa pressures. The energy intensity of the tractor unit operated on the testing route changed as a result of increasing the semitrailer tyre pressure from 170 kPa to 240 kPa while its hourly consumption dropped by 1.9 l/h (i.e. 6.3%).
