Matt Alberghini enters his first season at the University of Pittsburgh as a volunteer assistant after recently graduating from Coastal Carolina where he spent time as an assistant director of softball operations intern and student manager.

Pitt head softball coach Holly Aprile finalized her coaching staff for the 2018 season with the addition of volunteer assistant Matthew Alberghini.

Alberghini recently graduated from Coastal Carolina this past May with a bachelor of science in recreation and sport management and a minor in business administration.

During his time with the Chanticleers, he worked as an assistant director of softball operations intern and student manager with the softball team from 2015-2017.

This summer, Alberghini interned with the Hyannis Harbor of the highly regarded Cape Cod Baseball League.

A native of Chesapeake, Va., Alberghini will aid the team with instruction on both sides of the ball, also from an operational standpoint.
