WASHINGTON NEW TOWN 50TH ANNIVERSARY REAL ALE PUB CRAWL Washington Notes for guidance Real Ale Trail This pub crawl takes in 7 pubs in Washington that serve real ale. The route is roughly North to South and can be started at either end, although the route below is downhill. The total walking time is about 1 hour. 1. Sir William De Wessyngton – Concord. - Located opposite the bus station with frequent routes from Sunderland (56) , Newcas- tle (56), Heworth (4), South Shields (50) , Washington Galleries (4, 50) and Houghton (4). 2. The Steps - Washington Village. On exiting the Sir William De Wessyngton, turn right and walk past the shops and take the next right turn.
