    Een dagtocht met de auto en onderweg een paar wandelingen: stadjes, uitzichten en de prach- tige rivier de Dordogne. Bezoek aan Sainte-Fortunade, Roche de Vic en Beaulieu. Uitrit Chantefable rechts naar Tulle. Beneden, bij de préfecture, rechtsaf. Rijd tot aan de stoplich- ten aan de Corrèze en sla rechtsaf. Blijf langs de Corrèze rijden. De weg gaat na een tweetal kilo- meters over de Corrèze heen. Na de brug is er een scherpe draai naar rechts en dan naar links. Volg bij de rotonde Aurillac. Vervolgens rechtdoor (Auril- lac, Beaulieu), langs het station en de mooie mediatheek. Volg de weg tot een kleine rotonde. Sla daar rechtsaf en bij de volgende rotonde, meteen erna, linksaf (D940, rich- ting Beaulieu). U verlaat het dal van de Corrèze, de weg stijgt snel en u komt na 5 km in Ste-Fortunade. Midden in het dorp ligt links een kasteel, 50 m. verder kunt u parke- Ste Fortunade ren. Ste Fortunade (voor beschrijving zie apart blad). Ga verder over de D940 richting Beaulieu. In dit land woonde en schreef Martin Bril. Na 10 km. komt u in Quatre Routes. Steek de voorrangsweg schuin over, steeds richting Beaulieu. Neem na 2 km links de D17E, naar Roche de Vic, na ongeveer 100 m is rechts een parkeerplaats. Zet daar de auto. Hier kunt u eventueel picknicken. In Quatre Routes zijn twee restaurants. Roche de Vic (tot boven + 10 min.) Er gaan een vrij steil en een breed, minder steil pad naar boven. Boven staan een pa- noramawijzer en een kapel. Bij helder weer hebt u hier een van de mooiste uit- zichten van de streek.

Here’s a breakdown of how they have made the region, or at least part of it, their home. Nouvelle-Aquitaine was recently formed when the government redrew the administrative map of France, bringing together the old regions of Aquitaine, Poitou- Charentes and Limousin. The super-region stretches from the Spanish border in the southwest up the Atlantic coast to La Rochelle and deep into central France to take in the departments of Correze and Creuse. It includes departments,that have long been associated with migrating British citizens, such as Dordogne (Dordogneshire to many), and Charente. The Numbers: There are some 39,000 British citizens living in the giant Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, a new report from French statistics agency INSEE reveals. That represents 0.7 percent of the region's overall population and means that after the Portuguese, Brits represent the second biggest community of foreigners. Those 39,000 represent 26 percent of the 150,000 Brits officially registered as living in France. That makes Nouvelle-Aquitaine the region of France that is home to the most Brits. In second place is neighbouring Occitanie, which is home to 25,500 Brits, and in third place is the greater Paris region of Ile-de-France where 19,500 Brits have set up home.

Grazie alla sua vicinanza con le vie di pellegrinaggio giacobine, la struttura viene indagata non solo come associata ad un monastero a dipendenza cluniacense e ad una comunità urbana agli albori del proprio sviluppo, ma soprattutto come polo di attrazione della venerazione dei pellegrini, quali co-protagonisti nell'utilizzo della chiesa. Si è cercato, quindi, di comprendere come l'elemento del pellegrinaggio abbia caratterizzato ed influenzato la ricostruzione e la fruizione della chiesa di Beaulieu, sia nelle sue architetture che nel portale scolpito, e del suo tesoro. Object of the present thesis is the church of Saint-Pierre in Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, built in the twelfth century in the southern Limousin. Due to its closeness to the pilgrimage routes crossing France, the church has been analysed not only as part of a Cluniac monastery and of a newly born urban community, but mostly as an attractive pole for pilgrims, co-protagonists in its usage. It has been investigated how pilgrimage could have influenced the reconstruction and the fruition of the Beaulieu church, both in its architecture, sculpted portal and treasury.

Regional In‡ation During The French Revolution Levon Barseghyan Francesca Molinari François Velde December 15, 2000 Abstract Shortly after the Revolution of 1789 France experienced a period of major hyper- in‡ation, which lasted until 1796, when the French government abolished the paper money and returned to the specie. In 1798 the French government ordered the local authorities in all departments to construct the aggregate price index. Even though similar in trend, these price series display striking di¤erences both in level and short run dynamics. Some of these di¤erences are undoubtedly caused by the absence of a uniform rule for constructing the price indices, and possibly are magni…ed by such distortionary factors as the laws of maximum, the heavy concentration of military con- tracts in particular locations, and the di¤erent taxation schemes. However, level of economic integration in 18th century France had a major impact on the price evo- lution during the Revolution.
