Get anywhere in just four seconds! PRETTYBOY - Liepotan, 2013 DIRECTOR Sasa Ban The shooting of a commercial can be tedious, especially if you are an extra. Maja’s job is to take care of extras, and she has an unpleasant task of sorting them by their looks — pretty ones in the front, close to the camera, and the ugly ones in the back. To make things worse, her new boyfriend, Mladen, is among them. Mladen never considered himself a prettyboy. 8 | EUROCHANNEL GUIDE | NOVEMBER 2014 | LITTLE DaRLING - Balavica, 2013 DIRECTOR Igor Mirković Two kids at the top of a skyscraper. A view of the sea. He is Tom Sawyer and she is Alice in Wonderland. They walk along the edge of the roof, doing everything they’re not supposed to. In that hot summer, left under the care of her grandma, she will feel love for the first time. Luckily, grandma doesn’t have a clue about it; she barely leaves the apartment. Her parents are absent; they talk over phone and we notice that they’re hiding something. FIRST LADY OF DUBRAVA - Prva Dama Dubrave, 2010 DIRECTOR Barbara Vekarić Amra is an attractive and talented teenager living in the outskirts of Zagreb. Her dirty rap music has made her quite popular in the neighborhood. Her ʺmanagerʺ has plans to shoot a music video, but she is supposed to babysit her sister. Amra is not willing to sacrifice her big chance. TOGETHER - Together, 2014 DIRECTOR Daniel Kusan She is an unemployed mother with a two-year-old child, trying to find a job and lead a normal life in a crazy world in which relaxed moments are unusually valuable. The only sort of support she has is from her husband, with whom she talks on the phone during the day. He works at a car dealership and will soon lose his job. He is furious at a world which rejects him and does not allow him to take care of his family. Telephone conversations with his wife are superficial, discontinuous and not intimate enough. The only thing they can do is survive, until the end of the day, unimportant people and situations which only waste their time, and find peace in their home, in togetherness, in family.
