Nutrition, Health and Wellness in Confections USC Marshall International Case Competition February, 2009 Marshall School of Business University of Southern California Los Angeles, California United States of America Nestle USA: Nutrition, Health and Wellness in Confections February 2009 Nestlé SA, headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland, is the largest global food company, with a diverse mix of food and beverage products. While Nestlé‘s Corporate Business Principles will continue to evolve and adapt to a changing world, their basic foundation is unchanged from the time of the origins of the company, and reflect the basic ideas of fairness, honesty, and a general concern for people in all countries, taking into account local legislation, cultural and religious practices (Exhibit 1). Through innovation of new products and renovation of existing products, Nestlé is creating and enhancing hundreds of products to ensure that their products continue to be ―a healthy source of goodness.‖ Nestlé USA, a subsidiary of Nestlé S.A., covers every craving on the other-side-of-the- Atlantic, from a child‘s sweet tooth to a grown-up‘s caffeine fix to Fido‘s appetite. Nestlé USA offers hundreds of products including chocolate and confections (Baby Ruth, Goobers), beverages (Nestea, Taster‘s Choice), infant formula (Good Start, Nan), juices (Libby‘s), milk products (Carnation), pet food (Alpo, Friskies), prepared foods (Stouffer‘s) and sports nutrition (PowerBar).

  • The Fight to Stop Nestlé from Taking America&
The fight to stop Nestlé from taking America’s water to sell in plastic bottles November 1, 2019 A proposal for Nestlé to build a water bottling plant in Cascade Locks, Oregon, was one of the most heated battles in the state in its 2016 primary. Photograph: Don Ryan/AP The internationally known Guardian has published another article about Nestle, which includes a reference to Ginnie Springs, the Florida Springs Institute and a comment by OSFR advisor Bob Knight. Read the complete article here at this link in the Guardian. Comments by OSFR historian Jim Tatum. -A river is like a life: once taken, it cannot be brought back- The fight to stop Nestlé from taking America’s water to sell in plastic bottles Creek beds are bone dry and once-gushing springs are reduced to trickles as fights play out around the nation over control of nation’s freshwater supply by Tom Perkins Tue 29 Oct 2019 02.00 EDTLast modified on Wed 30 Oct 2019 11.07 EDT The network of clear streams comprising California’s Strawberry Creek run down the side of a steep, rocky mountain in a national forest two hours east of Los Angeles. Last year Nestlé siphoned 45m gallons of pristine spring water from the creek and bottled it under the Arrowhead Water label. Though it’s on federal land, the Swiss bottled water giant paid the US Forest Service and state practically nothing, and it profited handsomely: Nestlé Waters’ 2018 worldwide sales exceeded $7.8bn. Conservationists say some creek beds in the area are now bone dry and once-gushing springs have been reduced to mere trickles.
