WEBINAR ORGANISED Department of Civil Engineering in association with ISTE student chapter conducted webinar on “Self-Motivation” for the second year students of all the Engineering colleges. Prof. G.V. Donurmath was invited as the speaker of session. Nearly 45 students from the neighboring colleges attended the webinar. Department of Civil Engineering in association with ISTE student chapter conducted webinar on “CAREER IN CIVIL ENGINEERING- CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES” for the pre nal and nal year students. Adarsh Patil presented the webinar. Department of Civil Engineering organised online course on REMOTE SENSING and GIS DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING MOCK DCET Department of Civil Engineering organised online mock DCET Exam for Diploma Students Prof. Vijaylaxmi V has attended VTU Faculty Development Programme about virtual lab on 19/10/2020. Prof. Rakesh Patil attended International Conference Water Resource ICWR on 13/10/2020. Prof. Rakesh Patil presented paper entitled “Hydrogeological and Hydro-Geochemical studies of Complex aquifer System in Tatti-Halla Basin, Uttar Kannada district, Karnataka. in International Conference on Water Resource on 16/10/2020. Prof. Rakesh Patil has attended webinar on Importance and need of universal human values in higher education system conducted by Sai Vidya institute of Technology on 21/10/2020. Prof. Laxmi G Hattiholi has attended webinar on Importance and need of universal human values in higher education system conducted by Sai Vidya institute of Technology on 21/10/2020. 4 KLS’s Vishwanathrao Deshpande Institute of Technology, Haliyal ADD-ON COURSE Inaugural session of the ADD-ON course on “PCB Design and Circuit Simulation” by Mr. Anil Mugali, Engineer (R&D), Enerzi ENGINEERING Systems, Belagavi, on 1/10/2020. He has delivered a technical talk on industrial PCB design and has addressed to all the 3rd semester students. The event is co-ordinated by Prof. Prasann K. , Prof. Deepak Sharma & Prof. Rahul C.M. Add-on course on “Algorithmic Approach to Solve A Problem using C” by Prof. Basavaraj Goudar, Asst. Prof., ECE Dept., VDIT, was started on 13/10/2020. MOCK DCET MOCK DCET-2020 was organized for the E&CE diploma students on 05/10/2020. MOCK INTERVIEW DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION A Mock interview was organized by the a l u m n i M r . S a c h i n A d i , M r . A m i t Somangoudar & Mr. Sanjeev Deshpande addressing all the nal year students on 11/10/2020. WEBINAR ORGANISED Webinar on “How to face interviews” was c o n d u c t e d o n 3 0 / 1 0 / 2 0 2 0 a n d 31/10/2020 by Vibrant Publishers. The event is co-ordinated by Prof. Vikas Balikai & Prof. Deepak Sharma. The event started with welcome speech by Prof. Poornima Raikar, Mr. SHRIHARSHA NAIDU Mr. MOSIN Head of Department. The presidential address was given by Dr.V.A.Kulkarni, Vice Principal, KLS's VDIT Haliyal. The Alumni Representative Mr. Pandurang Parwatikar, Principal Sales Consultant, Oracle, Bengaluru addressed the gathering. The session further continued with introduction Miss. SHARADHI JOSHI Mr. JAVEED by all Alumni, followed by question and answer session. Students, staff and Alumni interacted. This Event was organized by Prof. Yasmeen S. Shaikh. Mr. PANDURANG Mr. CHETAN KUMAR MOCK DCET- 2020 DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE As a part of C-force Activity , The Department of Computer Science and Engg had organised an event- Mock DCET for diploma students on 05/10/2020 and 10/10/2020 at 11.00 am. The C-Force staff prepared 180 objective Questions. The Test duration was one and half hour. The Test was conducted online through Google Forms. The DCET Whatsapp group was also created to facilitate the students to have interaction. 10 students had registered and attended the Test On 05/10/2020 and 40 Students Registered and 28 students attended the test on 10/10/2020. The Event was organised by C-force family. The C-force coordinator is Prof. Saleem B. Hebbal. 7 KLS’s Vishwanathrao Deshpande Institute of Technology, Haliyal INTERACTIVE SESSION ON “TCS NINJA NQT-2020 Department of Computer Science and Engineering conducted an Interactive ENGINEERING Session on “TCS NINJA NQT-2020 Preparation Tips, Tricks and Strategies”- in association with ISTE Student Chapter on 18/10/2020.This was a one day program where various Tips, Tricks and Strategies were discussed in detail by the 2019 and 2020 TCS get Placed Students. This webinar focused on the How to crack the TCS? As students it is necessary for one to know the topics and have a core idea in order to place in the TCS Company. This program was attended by 100+ students. Attendees included from various departments who were eligible for TCS NINJA NQT-2020. ONLINE MOCK INTERVIEW SESSION-I DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE Karnataka Law Society's, Vishwanathrao Deshpande Institute of Technology, Department of Computer Science and Engineering conducted an online Mock Interview Session-I in association with Training and Placement Cell from 07/12/2020. This was a 6 days program where various eminent Industry experts a n d P r o u d a l u m n i c o n d u c t e d t h e interviews. A very benecial placement a c t i v i t y w a s e x p e r i e n c e d b y t h e participants. This program focused on the providing the platform to check the readiness of students for upcoming placement drives. Totally 22 Students were interviewed by various interviewers. 8 KLS’s Vishwanathrao Deshpande Institute of Technology, Haliyal TRANSMISSION OF IIT ONLINE COURSES THROUGH SWAYAM PRABHA DTH TV EDUCATION CHANNELS ENGINEERING The Online courses have started from 19/10/2020, that is run by IITs in the current semester and popular NPTEL courses are going to be transmitted through the six NPTEL channels of SWAYAM Prabha DTH TV Education Channels. The course contents, time-table, etc are available in the web site – swayamprabha.gov.in. Live doubt-clearance sessions are also being planned. The Swayam Prabha DTH channels can be received by all DD Free Dish and Dish TV subscribers and also, they are available on Jio App. The Facility is made available in VDIT Haliyal. The Necessary setup has been arranged in Edusat Hall to Facilitate students. DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE TECHNICAL WEBINAR ON: ANDROID APP DEVELOPMENT Department of CSE, organised a Live W e b i n a r S e s s i o n o n “ A n d r o i d A p p development” in Association with Pantech E learning Pvt. Ltd. on Date: 5/10/2020 at 4pm. Resource person Mr. Kamalesh S is from Pantech E-learning. Webinar was organised on YouTube live platform and more than 80 participants have attended the live webinar. This was organised by Prof. Jayashree Inchal. 9 KLS’s Vishwanathrao Deshpande Institute of Technology, Haliyal ENGINEERING ADD-ON COURSE ON DEEP LEARNING Department of Computer Science and Engineering of KLS'sVishwanathrao Deshpande Institute of Technology,Haliyal inaugurated the Add-on course on Deep Learning on 07/10/2020. The Resource Person was Mr. Shreyas Vernekar,Founder and CEO,Rove Labs, Bangalore. The session started with welcome speech by Prof. Poornima Raikar, HOD CSE Department. Introduction of resource person was delivered by Prof. Yasmeen Shaikh. DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE PAPER PRESENTATION A Paper titled “A Copyright Protection Scheme for Grayscale Images using Wavelet Transform and Arnold Transform” is presented in IEEE BHTC conference held virtually from 8/10/2020 to 10/10/2020 by Prof.
