Kevin Klein, Airport Director recently released the record setting number of passengers traveling by way of TVC Airport. “Cherry Capital Airport has had a record breaking June, 2021. Some are referring to the travel climate now as revenge travel following the Pandemic shutdown,” Kevin Klein, Airport Director said. June numbers of passengers rose by 26.9% over the previous record number of passengers set in 2019. There are 17 non-stop cities served this summer, an increase of two non-stop routes over 2019. Additionally, several routes served by American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines have seen increased seat capacities by flying larger aircraft in and out of TVC – Cherry Capital Airport. “This summer season is seeing an increase in travel to our region. The northern Michigan region boasts wide open spaces and recreational opportunities including hiking, biking, golf, and water sports; all of which are key ingredients lending to the growth of air travel. We are seeing visitors from every corner of the United States,” Kevin Klein said.
