'e efficacy of a water quality management strategy highly depends on the analysis of water quality data, which must be intensively analyzed from both spatial and temporal perspectives. 'is study aims to analyze spatial and temporal trends in water quality in Code River in Indonesia and correlate these with land use and land cover changes over a particular period. Water quality data consisting of 15 parameters and Landsat image data taken from 2011 to 2017 were collected and analyzed. We found that the concentrations of total dissolved solid, nitrite, nitrate, and zinc had increasing trends from upstream to downstream over time, whereas concentrations of parameter biological oxygen demand, cuprum, and fecal coliform consistently undermined water quality standards. 'is study also found that the proportion of natural vegetation land cover had a positive correlation with the quality of Code River’s water, whereas agricultural land and built-up areas were the most sensitive to water pollution in the river. -

It is classified into one of the most active volcanoes, even on the world. It mostly erupts in every 4 years. Deposits produced by its activity in Sleman Regency Yogyakarta Special Region of where the study located, can be divided into four rock units, namely Ancient Merapi, Middle Merapi, Recent Merapi, and Modern Merapi. In the 10th to 11th century Mount Merapi had been responsible to the decline of Hindu Mataram Kingdom, Central Java, by its eruptions. It was verified by the discovery of many ancient temples in Yogyakarta and surrounding areas, such as Temple Sambisari, Temple Kadisoka, and Temple Kedulan which were buried by volcanic deposits of Mount Merapi [1]. The eruption of Mount Merapi, in the year 2010 was recognized as the biggest eruption during recent decades and claimed about 300 lives and very large treasures, after the eruption. The type of eruption was changed from Merapi type in the activity period of 2006 and before to become the combination of Vulcanian type and Pelean type [2]. Due to the activities of the volcano that is very intensive, it can be underlined that the threats of geohazard faced by people living in the surrounding area of Yogyakarta is about the impact of volcanic eruptions [3]. -

Marijke Klokke AN INDONESIAN SCULPTURE IN THE KRÖLLER-MÜLLER MUSEUM1 Introduction SCULPTURE In 1919 Helene Kröller-Müller acquired an Indonesian sculpture from Frederik Muller & Cie, a well-known auction house in Amsterdam at the time (PI. 1). The inventory of the auction - which took place on 25-28 November 1919 - listed the sculpture under lot numbers 1548-1567, together with 19 other sculptures from the Netherlands Indies: ‘Collection de vingt sculptures en gres, d’idoles, etc. des Indes néerlandaises. (Boroboudour, Java?). - Par pièce’.2 Helene Kröller-Müller was born in Essen in Germany in 1869. In 1888 she married Anton Kröller, a promising employee at the Rotterdam branch of her father’s firm Wm H. Müller & Co. A year later he was to become the director of this firm and one of the richest business men in the Netherlands. In 1907 INDONESIAN Helene began to collect art, mainly the contemporary art of which Van Gogh was her favourite, but also non-western art.3 When she bought the Indo nesian sculpture in 1919 she was making plans to build a museum for her AN growing art collection. Because of long discussions with architects and financial problems of the Müller firm in the 1930s it was not until 1938 that her dream came true and the Kröller-Müller Museum came into existence thanks to an initiative of the Dutch state.4 Helene Kröller-Müller was to be the first director, but not for long as she died in 1939. The sculpture she acquired in 1919 is the only Indonesian piece in the Kröller-Müller Museum collection.5 It is registered as KM 113.611 but the inventory file gives little Information about the identification of the depicted figure (‘Hindu-Buddhist dwarf figure’), the origin of the relief (‘Indonesia’), or its date (‘unknown’). -

Physicals, chemicals, and microbial parameters were analysed along the Coder River to reveal the temporal influence on water quality characteristics. From December 2017 to March 2018, we collected twice a month surface water sample at the nine monitored sampling site. The results indicate that the temporal factor has a significant impact, particularly in wet and dry seasons, on increasing the chemical oxygen demand (COD), ammonia-nitrogen (NH3-N), total coliform (TC), and faecal coliform (FC) above the local government standard. Overall, the water quality in the Code River is mainly influenced by the anthropogenic pollution sources that did not decrease during the dry season because of the low water flow. It is being used by the Yogyakarta people for several purposes such as irrigation, fishery and drinking water source. Local Government Strategy and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) level: Case Studies of Sleman and Kulon Progo district, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) Miptahul Janah1, Dyah Mutiarin1 {[email protected]} Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta1 Abstract. The research objective was to determine the extent to which local government strategy influences FDI level in Sleman and KulonProgo districts. The research was a qualitative one that used data and information that were obtained from government documents, macroeconomic indicators from local government statistics offices, interviews with relevant officials responsible and knowledgeable about investment in general and FDI in particular. Research findings found no evidence of local government strategy that was specifically tailored toward attracting FDI to the respective district. However, there is abundant evidence that determinants of FDI are in line with previous research results and theory. The results show that the key factors that have influenced a greater number of FDI to locate more of their production facilities in Sleman than in Kulon Progo include accessibility, availability of skilled manpower, good infrastructure, a responsive investment regulatory regime, quality information on investment potential, active involvement of the district government in showcasing investment potential through local , national and international fora. The existence of agglomeration effects in Sleman district has also played an important role, if not the most important, in making Sleman more attractive as FDI destination than Kulon Progo district. Corresponding author: Djumanto, [email protected] Abstract. The ecological, biological and economical role of the Opak River's downstream is crucial for the people in the Bantul Regency area. Several home leather industries use the Opak River to dispose liquid waste, affecting water quality and aquatic biota. This study aimed to determine the concentration of chromium (Cr) in the Opak River ecosystem and fish. Sampling was carried out in February, April, and July 2020, in six locations, covering water, sediment and fish samples. The Cr concentration was measured for each sample using the atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS) method. The highest Cr concentration was found in Osteochilus vittatus (0.8489 mg kg-1), followed by the sediment samples (0.7125 mg kg-1), Oreochromis niloticus (0.3799 mg kg-1) and the water samples (0.01889 mg kg-1). The concentration of chromium in fish is still below the toxicity threshold for the biota and environmental health. The chromium concentration tends to increase according to the trophic level. Opak River is one of the rivers located in the east of the Yogyakarta Special Region, which has a flow length of approximately 65 km and a river basin area of 1,398.18 km2. In the "sister village" scenario, the meeting area and shelter have been coordinated, but people's behavior has not been fully considered yet in the vulnerability assessment and government's contingency plan. The purpose of this study is to assess the people's behavior, mutual assistance, and social vulnerability index of pedestrian evacuation in four affected regencies. First, we measured the walking speed directly, conducted interviews with stakeholders, and focus group discussions with local communities. We used the multicriteria method and focused on two factors, social and age structure (young, vulnerable, and mutual assistance between them), and risk perception (work, rain, night, alert, and destination). The index reflects the distribution of actual walking speed, mutual assistance, and the government's plan. The result showed that mutual assistance groups have a higher walking speed than vulnerable people but lower than young people. Mutual assistance coordination is crucial to support vulnerable to effective travel time. The social and age structure of the social vulnerability index has a stronger risk influence than the perception factor in the evacuation process. However, these two factors have a minor impact on social vulnerability to the total population. -

However, in Indonesia, there are few studies targeting climate indices and streamflow. A previous study found difficulty in developing a statistical prediction model for this relationship due to its non-linear nature. This study attempted to address that gap by applying multiple regression (MR) models using second- and third-order polynomial functions to show the non-linear relationship between climate and flow regime indices. First, a correlation analysis was performed to check the variable relationships. There was a good and significant correlation of El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) with the flow regime indices. Secondly, MR models were developed with the same-time variables. The developed model showed that the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) had the effect of strongly increasing the high flow in La Niña phases. Finally, time-lagged MRs were developed aiming at forecasting. Lagged MR models with six-month leading climate indices demonstrated a relatively good correlation with the observed data (mostly R > 0.700) with moderate accuracy (root mean Citation: Nugroho, A.R.; Tamagawa, square error = 44–51%). -

CHAPTER 14 FUTURE WATER RESOURCES CHAPTER 14 FUTURE WATER RESOURCES 14.1 Groundwater Resources 14.1.1 Geophysical Exploration for Evaluating Groundwater Resources Geophysical exploration was carried out for evaluating groundwater resources in the study area and also for assisting to delineate promising areas for drilling and taking water from springs. This survey consists of VES (Vertical Electrical Sounding) survey and 2D Imaging (Two Dimensional Resistivity Imaging) survey. VES measurements were conducted at the area supposed that deep wells will be drilled for future water supply and 2D measurements were carried out at the area for drilling shallow wells or taking water from springs. (1) Location of Geophysical Exploration Preparatory for the geophysical exploration, hydrogeologist of this study consulted with the persons in charge of water supply for the study area and selected the 80 survey points in consideration of their priority. 60 points in 3 districts (Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Municipality and Bantul Regency) for VES survey and 20 in Sleman Regency for 2D imaging survey were selected. Figure 14.1.3 shows the locations of VES points and Figure 14.1.4 shows those of 2D imaging. The area name (Dusun, Desa and Kecamatan) and coordinates of measurement points are listed in Table 14.1.1 to 14.1.5. (2) Method of Survey VES method uses Schlumberger configuration, and 2D Imaging method uses Dipole-Dipole configuration. VES method has been usually used for groundwater exploration, and is useful to investigate simple hydrogeological structure or horizontal layers parallel with the flat ground surface. 2D imaging is relatively new technological method and can draw cross section of specific resistivity. -

The municipal solid waste management system collects waste from the source to the final treatment site called landfill. The Yogyakarta Special Province has several landfills, one of which is Piyungan landfill, which serves three administrative areas, Yogyakarta City, Sleman and Bantul Regency. As a regional landfill, Piyungan has an area of 12.5 ha with 3 working zones, operationalized since 1995, estimated with the operational time 20 years. So that 2015 should landfill have been closed, but due to the degradation of waste until 2018 landfill is still used. Therefore, an evaluation mechanism is needed to show the existing condition in the field. Using the checklist method, using questionnaires and interviews and utilizing other secondary data. This method consists of five parts and has an assessment criteria in each component obtained assessment of facilities and infrastructure facilities of 2.25 (good category), while 1.68 for operational technical aspects (very good category). Overall Piyungan landfill evaluation scored 1.96 (good category).
