Yaddo is increasingly recognized as a welcoming space for performance artists, film and video artists, collaborative teams, and artists investigating social practice - 19 filmmakers, 19 performance artists and 6 collaborative artists were in residence in 2016. These artists, along with 2016’s 22 composers, 102 writers, and 57 visual artists, are called “guests” throughout their residencies, reminding us all of Yaddo’s steadfast commitment to the hospitality and protected space for creative endeavor envisioned by founders Spencer and Katrina Trask.
