May the Lord Bless His People with Peace Welcome to Crosspointe Lutheran Church! Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing Public Domain (Lutheran Service Book 686) Come, Thou Fount of ev’ry blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise. While the hope of endless glory, Fills my heart with joy and love. Teach me ever to adore Thee, May I still Thy goodness prove. Here I raise my Ebenezer, Hither by Thy help I’ve come; And I hope, by Thy good pleasure, Safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, Wand’ring from the fold of God; He, to rescue me from danger, Interposed His precious blood. Oh, to grace how great a debtor Daily I’m constrained to be; Let that grace now like a fetter Bind my wand’ring heart to Thee: Prone to wander, Lord I feel it; Prone to leave the God I love. Here’s my heart, O take and seal it, Seal it for Thy courts above. Call to Worship Reader:We gather in the name of the Lord; the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen. All: May the Lord bless His people with peace Reader: You keep us in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You All: Let me hear the word of the Lord for He will speak peace to His people Call to Worship Reader: You shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace All: O Lord, You ordain peace for us by the work You’ve done for us Reader: The Lord says, “I will be with you to give you peace in this place.” All: In Jesus God is with us and He shall be our peace Confession of Sin Reader: Most Merciful God; All: You cried out to Your people by the prophet Isaiah, that if we would pay attention to Your commandments then we would have peace like a river. But instead we have broken, ignored, and neglected Your commands and sinned against You in thought, word, and deed by what we have done and also by what we have left undone. Our sin has taken away our peace, in our relationships with others but also in how our hearts and minds know You. Our sin deserves Your wrath. But Jesus stands as our Prince of Peace and our sin has been nailed in whole to His Cross that we would bear it no more. For His sake forgive us and by Your Spirit move our hearts to delight in Your ways for the honor of Your name Proclamation of God’s Forgiveness Before the Throne of God Above Charitie Lees Bancroft, Vikki Cook © 1997 Sovereign Grace Worship/EMI Christian Music Publishing CCLI 2965233 Before the throne of God above I have a strong and perfect plea A great High Priest whose name is Love Who ever lives and pleads for me. My name is graven on His hands, My name is written on His heart; I know that while in heaven He stands No tongue can bid me thence depart No tongue can bid me thence depart When Satan tempts me to despair And tells me of the guilt within Upward I look and see Him there Who made an end to all my sin Because the sinless Savior died My sinful soul is counted free For God, the Just, is satisfied To look on Him and pardon me To look on Him and pardon me Alleluia, alleluia Praise the One, Risen Son of God Behold Him there the risen Lamb My perfect, spotless righteousness The great unchangeable I AM The King of glory and of grace One in Himself, I cannot die My soul is purchased by His blood My life is hid with Christ on high With Christ, my Savior and my God With Christ, my Savior and my God Alleluia, alleluia Praise the One Risen Son of God Alleluia, alleluia Praise the One Risen Son of God Children’s Message God’s Word Romans 5:1-11 Profession of Faith Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; Who for us men and our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man; and was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead whose Kingdom will have no end. And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. Pastor: Lord Jesus, our Prince of Peace All: You are the same, yesterday, today, and every tomorrow that comes. There is so much in the world and so much in our hearts, minds, lives & relationships that is not the way it should be. This world tells us the solution is to let go of the people in our lives who cause us stress, but often our own sin is the problem. Open our hearts with the… forgiveness You won for us on the Cross, as we live in our baptism each day drown our sin so it’s put to death & raise us up to live new in You, following Your example & walking in Your foot steps. As far as it is up to us, help us to live in peace with everyone. As we know more of the peace You've given us may we extend that peace into more of our lives and the world around us, amen. Pastor: Lord of heaven and earth All: We thank You for the many and great blessings we have living where we do when we do. We ask that You would lead our nation to repentance and faith. Turn us away from the sin and evil You despise to delight in You and Your Word, living with one another in holiness and righteousness. Bring this election to a clear and peaceful conclusion. Raise our eyes and hearts above the earthly leaders we can see to find our hope and salvation in You. Regardless of who or which party holds certain offices, You instruct us to pray for our leaders. By Your Holy Spirit, place that prayer in our hearts as we trust in You and patiently await the return of Jesus. Pastor: Lord of hosts All: We thank You for the men & women who have served in our nation’s armed forces. We remember the sacrifices they & their families have made. Comfort the families of those who have given their lives in service to our country. Sustain and strengthen the veterans who are confined to hospitals, who bear war’s physical, mental, & emotional scars. Provide those who need assistance with the resources they need and the full gratitude and attention of those who provide them. Help us to honor them, their service and their memory by loyal citizenship and a readiness to defend the rights of people everywhere, amen. Lord’s Prayer Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. Sending with God’s Peace The Blessing Cody Carnes, Chris Brown, Kari Jobe, Steven Furtick. • Revival Devotion
Lord, Show us Marvelous Things. Amen Five simple words that can revive your heart for 2019. Lord, Show us Marvelous Things. Jeremiah 33:3 Amen Church Family, My prayer for our church is above. Five simple words that encapsulate my heart for our church for 2019. Thank you for continuing this journey together, as we pray for personal and corporate revival. I believe that in my time as your pastor that the need has never been greater for revival in our church and in our homes. In order for revival to come, we must begin an inspection of our lives. This guide is written with that in mind. As you read, allow the Holy Spirit to begin the work of revival in your life. Would you be willing to pray? Jesus, You know every one of my sins. Please show me my spiritual brokenness and allow me to repent in my heart. Help me to confess and turn from my sins. Renew a right spirit within me. Let revival begin in me. I am excited to see what the Lord is going to do in and through our church family. Thanks for the honor of being your pastor. Please join me in praying... “Lord, Send a Great Revival!” Day Read Psalm 85 Jason Brown was the highest paid center in the NFL, playing for the St. Louis Rams. In late 2011, Jason had two children, and a mansion with two fully- stocked bars, yet he and his wife were "dying inside" and were likely headed toward divorce. As a Christian, Jason had to admit that his relationship with Jesus was a ticket to forgiveness and little else—until he released his grip on money and football.

Zoom Invitation: Click Here The Fourth Sunday of Easter April 25, 2021 Mission Sunday Welcome to The Light of Christ Anglican Church (TLC). At TLC, we engage with what it means that God’s Kingdom is not only a future promise but also a present reality within our world even now, ushered in by Christ. This reality shapes our worship and life together. It speaks into the way we embrace community in our multi-ethnic and multi-generational context as one big family. Worship is the core that brings all aspects of our identity together. In worship we celebrate the King who loves us and has redeemed us, and who invites us to join in His Redemptive story within the world. A Note to Our Guests If you are visiting TLC for the first time, it is our hope that you would feel very welcome. Here are a few thoughts on how to make that happen. ▪ Everything you need to follow the service is in this bulletin. ▪ Are you new to liturgy? Please do not be bothered. We are not about perfection. We are ordinary people gathered to worship. ▪ If you are comfortable doing so, we encourage you to let an usher know it’s your first time. They can help make your experience smoother. For example, you may find it helpful if you sat next to a member who knows their way around here and can answer quick questions for you. • Verse of the Month
SEPTEMBER 2019 Volume 18, issue 1 Christian Hills School A Ministry of Christian Hills Church Getting to Know… th by Zoie Balaskas & Jori Lambert, 8 Grade This is Ms. (Connie) Lapinski’s first year here at CHS. She knew she wanted to be a teacher in her junior year of high school. She first taught second grade in a public school. She has one sibling, a brother named Joseph (Joey). She was saved when she was just three years old. When she was watching a video about Jesus, she wanted to know why they killed Him. Her mom explained to her why and she gave her heart to Jesus right there and then. When she is not teaching, she is an umpire, singer/songwriter, and a freelance writer. She recorded an album called “The Road” in 2016 while in Tennessee. The album is on iTunes and Google Play. She also enjoys exercising, playing softball, listening to music, and going shopping. Ms. Lapinski’s favorite part about teaching is having interactions with students, building relationships with them, and watching them reach their full potential. Her favorite subject is reading (ELA) because she loves doing book studies and learning about the characters and plots. Her favorite Bible verse is Galatians 2:20-21 which reads: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ died in vain.” KJV Ms.
