Type-species: Hesperia coroller Boisduval, by original designation. The genus Fulda belongs to the Family Hesperiidae Latreille, 1809; Subfamily Hesperiinae Latreille, 1809, Tribe Hesperiini Latreille, 1809. Other genera in the Tribe Hesperiini, are Lepella, Prosopalpus, Kedestes, Tsitana, Gorgyra, Gyrogra, Teniorhinus, Flandria, Hollandus, Xanthodisca, Acada, Rhabdomantis, Osmodes, Parosmodes, Osphantes, Acleros, Paracleros, Semalea, Hypoleucis, Paronymus, Andronymus, Malaza, Perrotia, Ploetzia, Moltena, Chondrolepis, Zophopetes, Gamia, Artitropa, Mopala, Pteroteinon, Leona, Caenides, Monza, Melphina, Melphinyet, Noctulana, Fresna, and Platylesches. Fulda (Malagasy Hoppers) is an Afrotropical genus of eight species, confined to Madagascar. The genus is close to Ampittia (Evans, 1937: 86). Species of this genus inhabit grassy disturbed areas close to or within primary forest (Lees et al., 2003). The Fulda bernieri complex (including bernieri, imorina, lucida, gatiana, and pauliana) is in need of careful revision (Lees et al., 2003).
