About the Lafarge Ravena Cement Plant

The Ravena cement plant in New York has been producing materials for the construction industry since 1962. The 130 employee plant produces 2.2 million metric tons of cement supplying the northeast region with Type I/II and Type S masonry cement.

Plant Modernization Ravena went through a modernization project, which was commissioned and began production in 2017. This project added a new preheater precalciner kiln line complete with a new vertical roller mill and cooler. The kiln line was attached to the finish mills that were in place since the plant started in 1962.

Environmental Commitment The Ravena cement plant has air pollution controls in place to make it one of the most environmentally friendly plants in the world. They

have a wet scrubber to reduce SO2, activated carbon to reduce , new dust collectors for particulate matter reduction and

SNCR to reduce NOx.

Putting Safety First LafargeHolcim’s first priority is the health and safety of employees, subcontractors and visitors. The importance of safe behaviors and a safety mindset is constantly emphasized as the highest priority, with the goal of zero harm to people. The plant has instituted innovative, effective procedures to keep everyone safe. Community Support The Ravena cement plant has donated masonry cement to help repair a theatre for the Albany school district. They have donated to local food pantries, and are sponsors/contributors of Ravena Cement Plant 1916 US Route 9W the Ravena Friendship Festival. Ravena, NY 12143
