Global Mission, adopted by the Church at the General Conference Session, is to reach a new group of 1 million people every other day for the next 10 years. As part NEWS of the world church, the Lake Union Conference wishes to join our believers in this noble objective. The Lake Union Conference Executive Committee adopted a stra- tegic plan for accomplishing our "Global Mission." 12 Lake Region Conference The plan lists five goals during this quinquennial period. They are: 1) to increase 13 Andrews University Sabbath School and church attendance by 10 percent, 2) to increase church mem- 14 Wisconsin Conference bership by 5 percent, 3) to increase mission giving by 5 percent, 4) to increase church school enrollment by 10 percent, and 5) to increase tithe receipts by 10 percent. 16 Michigan Conference Five steps are suggested as a means of realizing these objectives. They are: 17 Lake Union Conference STEP 1— To develop a strong spiritual lifestyle emphasis through stewardship. 17 Indiana Conference Much prayer and regular study of the Word are essential for spiritual growth. We recommend spending more time seeking the Holy Spirit's aid to develope a lifestyle 18 Illinois Conference that is pleasing to God. Faithful stewardship is evidence of spiritual development. 19 Academies According to the Seventh-day Adventist Church Manual, (1986 edition) Page 133: "Stewardship in its fullest form covers many aspects of Christian life and experience, such as our time, our influence, our service." In Testimonies for the Church, vol. 9, Page 248, Ellen G. White states: "God DEPARTMENTS desires all of His stewards to be exact in following divine arrangements. ... God calls upon all to give their influence to His own arrangement.
