Material in the guide was current as t a of the printing deadline of July 10, 2000. Additional information is available in the Washburn Sports Information Office m and through weekly releases available to personnel from accredited media outlets covering the Ichabods. r o Washburn University is in Topeka, Kansas, at the intersection of 21st street and Washburn Avenue. Lee Arena is f located in the Petro Allied Health Center at the east edge of the Washburn campus. Parking for the facility is adjacent n I to Washburn Avenue. a i The Washburn University Sports Information Office is located in room No. 352 of Whiting Fieldhouse. M Media Credentials are available to personnel from accredited media outlets by contacting Gene Cassell, sports infor- mation director, Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas 66621. Credentials are available 90 minutes prior to kickoff at the Will Call window at the northwest entrance of Moore Bowl. All media seating in the Moore Bowl press box is reserved on a game-by-game basis and space is limited. Please contact the Sports Information Office at least one week before the game date to ensure a seat in the press box. Radio Stations wishing to broadcast from Moore Bowl should make broadcast requests through the Sports Information Office at least two weeks in advance. One courtesy line will be made available to the official station of each visiting team. Additional stations wishing to broadcast must install their own line. KWIC 99.3is the official broadcast station of the Washburn Ichabods. Telephone lines for writers to file their stories are available in the Moore Bowl Press Box. There are two telephone lines for writers to file stories. Media Services include a game program and lineups, plus statistics and game notes for each team. Halftime stats are provided as well as individual and team stats and a play-by-play summary. Statistics are kept on the Automated Scorebook computer system by MRR Systems. Refreshments are available before each game. Postgame Interviews with Coach Tony DeMeo are available to media personnel after his brief meeting with the team immediately following the game. Players will be brought, by request, to Moore Bowl press box. Interviews during the week can be arranged by calling the Sports Information Office. ICHABODS ON RADIO Washburn Football games are broadcast in northeast Kansas on 10,000 watt KWIC 99.3 FM in Topeka. Veteran announcer Ron Simon and for- mer WU offensive coordinator Steve Walter describe all the action. The Tony DeMeo Show can be heard on Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m. on KWIC 99.3 FM with Ron Simon. at Shooter’s Sports Bar and Billiards. Ron Simon begins his 13th season as the "Voice of the Ichabods." The Ron Simon Steve Walter 1987 Kansas graduate is in his fourth year as the Director of Marketing “Voice of the Ichabods Color and Promotions for Washburn Athletics.
