E-Ring Road diversion

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced the closure of part of E-Ring Road in the direction from Energy Intersection towards Airport Street from tomorrow for six months. Traff ic will be diverted to the opposite side of the road to include two lanes in each direction. The closure, in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traff ic, is to allow construction works for surface and groundwater network at Al Thumama. Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the temporary closure and has urged all to follow these and abide by the speed limit to ensure safety. Military Police concludes joint exercise with Turkish forces

Forces of the Military Police concluded a four-week joint military exercise with the Turkish Armed Forces. The exercise aimed at raising combat capabilities, exchanging experiences, and enhancing the joint military co-operation between the Qatari army and its Turkish counterpart. The closing day of the exercise included riot control scenarios and storming built-up areas. Commander of the Military Police Brigadier General Rashid Mohamed al-Hajri and Military Adviser to the Turkish forces in Qatar Brigadier General Ramazan Aydemir praised the quality, professionalism and distinguished performance presented by all participants in the exercise.
