Press Contact: Lauren Sklar Phone: 646-336-3745; Email: [email protected] WORST COOKS IN AMERICA: CELEBRITY EDITION Contestant Bios MINDY COHN Mindy Cohn made her acting debut as the witty, precious Eastland Academy student Natalie Green in the hit comedy series The Facts of Life. She was discovered while attending Westlake School for Girls in Bel Air, California, when actress Charlotte Rae and producer Norman Lear came to the school to authenticate scripts for their new show. Ms. Rae was so taken with the vivacious eighth grader she convinced producers to create a role for her. Mindy remained on the show for all nine seasons, also traveling to Paris and Australia with her co-stars to produce two successful television movies based on the series. Concurrently, with her role in Facts, Mindy played “Rose Jenko” in Fox’s 21 Jump Street. Other notable television appearances included Diff’rent Strokes, Double Trouble, Charles in Charge, Dream On and Suddenly Susan. In 1983, Mindy appeared in her first professional stage performance in Table Settings, written and directed by James Lapine and filmed for HBO Television. The illustrious cast included Eileen Heckart, Stockard Channing, Robert Klein, Peter Riegart, and Dinah Manoff. She went on to make her feature film debut in The Boy Who Could Fly, which co-starred Colleen Dewhurst, Fred Gwynne and Fred Savage. Mindy took a hiatus from her career to attend university, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and a Masters in Education. During this time, she studied improvisation and scene work with Gary Austin and Larry Moss. -

Do you know of any examples where an individuals online behaviour has had a negative impact on their life When past tweets have come back to haunt them There are many cautionary tales where posts from the past have come back to haunt the individual who posted them An example of this was Kevin Hart when in 2018 tweets from 2011 resurfaced and he was slammed for being homophobic. This ended up with him having to step down as host of the Oscars Jack Maynard pulled out of I’m A Celebrity….Get Me Out Of Here! In 2017 after just 3 days in the jungle due to a series of Tweets he posted between 2011 to 2013. Maynard later apologised saying he was ‘young’ and ‘careless’ when he sent the posts, adding: ‘Don’t put anything online you wouldn’t say to your mum.’ There are many cases where this has happened over the years as people have easier and quicker access to the internet. Things that could be seen as funny at the time, may not be so funny in the future. Think about how much has changed in the past 50 years, even what is seen as comedy on TV has adapted. Twitter was What was funny then is most likely created in 2006 offensive now! Facebook was created in 2004 How online platforms have evolved Twitter was originally created as an alternative to SMS text messages as a form of free social networking. -

Once Upon a Time … in Santa Clarita: Tarantino Movie Opens Thursday
By: Caleb Lunetta, July 25, 2019 Once Upon a Time … In Santa Clarita: Tarantino movie opens Thursday Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino is known for his genre-defying blockbuster films that combine elements of art house, violence and comedy in his Academy Award-winning films. And the San Fernando Valley resident calls Santa Clarita “a special place,” according to local film property owners who have played host to the luminary for his latest film that debuts tonight, “Once Upon a Time … In Hollywood.” The latest installment in the Tarantino filmography follows the story of “a faded television actor and his stunt double (who) strive to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood’s Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles,” according to IMDb.com. The film features Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. Tarantino and movie fans were given a teaser trailer where the opening shot was that of Melody Ranch’s “Main Street” set. Veluzat said that the production team had been working with the studio for a couple months, from planning to setting up to filming, and for him, it was a special experience. Tarantino has filmed two of his last three movies at Melody Ranch in Newhall, according to studio manager Daniel Veluzat, and he’s praised the SCV in interviews and conversations with local residents. He really does like it here, said Veluzat, in reference to a question about why Tarantino has filmed his movies at Melody Ranch. “He calls it a special place,” he said. And on Thursday night, “Once Upon a Time” opens in theaters across the country, including the Santa Clarita Valley, featuring scenes shot at both Melody Ranch and the Saugus Speedway. -

THE ESTATE OF MENDACITY: AN INTERPRETATION OF WILLIAMS’S MOST AMBIGUOUS CHARACTER by CREED BOWLEN B.A. University of Alabama at Birmingham, 2002 A thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Fine Arts in the Department of Theatre in the College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Central Florida Orlando, Florida Spring Term 2010 © 2008 Daniel Creed Bowlen ii ABSTRACT I performed the role of Brick Pollitt at Lake Mirror Theatre in Lakeland, Florida from April 20- April 30 2006. The role of Brick Pollitt provided me with several acting challenges as well as multiple subjects to research. The most challenging aspects of portraying the character of Brick Pollitt are his alcoholism, issues of sexuality, and tormented familial relationships. Brick Pollitt journeys in the period of one day through major challenges in two key relationships. He moves from dominance in his relationship with Maggie to capitulation and from isolation in his relationship with Big Daddy to mutual understanding. Brick’s relationships are further complicated by questions surrounding his recently deceased best friend Skipper and drives (alcoholism) that may be perceived as self destructive. My preliminary work has led me to believe Brick is in search of peace (‘the click’) in a tormented life (Williams, Cat 2.47). The nature of the torment needs further research for definition. Some critics argue Brick’s sexuality is ambivalent, and he is repressing homosexual drives. Equally possible is arguing the homosexuality was restricted to Skipper. Making a decision about the definition of this relationship is key to making choices within the play because the friendship was so important to Brick’s perception of himself. -

My name: I’m Steve Coleman. I’ll keep this in the format that I have here. I’d like to start off with where you were born, when you were born. Freeman: Let’s see. It’s been a little problem with that age thing. Some say 1922. Some say 1923. Say 1923. Let’s make me a year younger. October the 3rd, 1923. Coleman: Why is there a problem with the age thing? Freeman: I don’t know. When I was unaware that they were writing, a lot of things said that I was born in ’22. I always thought I was born in ’23. So I asked my mother, and she said she couldn’t remember. Then at one time I had a birth certificate. It had ’22. So when I went to start traveling overseas, I put ’23 down. So it’s been wavering between ’22 and ’23. So I asked my brother Bruz. He says, “I was always two years older than you, two years your elder.” So that put me back to 1923. So I just let it stand there, for all the hysterians – historian that have written about me.
