Washington, D.C. 20240 IN REPLY REFER TO: March 29, 2018 Thank you for your interest in the Teacher Ranger Teacher (TRT) program for 2018. The following list of parks have received funding from the National Park Service Washington office to host a teacher in the TRT program this summer. At this time, this list is not comprehensive and additional parks across the country are seeking approval to host a Teacher Ranger Teacher in 2018. Therefore, do not hesitate to reach out directly to parks to inquire and express interest to serving as a Teacher Ranger Teacher. Contact information for each park can be found at www.nps.gov. Alaska Region: Yukon-Charley Rivers National Park Intermountain Region: Chiricahua National Monument Gila Cliff Dwelling National Monument Rocky Mountain National Park White Sand Dunes National Monument Midwest Region: Lincoln Boyhood Home National Memorial Pullmen National Monument Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site Northeast Region: Adams National Historical Park Fort Monroe National Monument Fort Stanwix National Monument Gateway National Recreation Area Sagamore Hill National Historic Site Statue of Liberty National Monument Pacific West Region: Crater Lake National Park Ice Age National Scenic Trail Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park - Seattle Unit Minidoka National Historical Park Olympic National Park Southeast Region: Dry Tortugas National Park Hot Springs National Park Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park Obed Wild and Scenic River Additionally, a grant from the National Park Foundation is funding Teacher Ranger Teacher in California and the District of Columbia. California: Cabrillo National Monument Death Valley National Park Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site Joshua Tree National Park Lava Beds National Monument Manzanar National Historic Site Point Reyes National Seashore Redwood National and State Parks Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks Tule Lake Unit of WWII Valor in the Pacific National Monument Whiskeytown National Recreation Area Yosemite National Park District of Columbia: Greenbelt Park George Washington Memorial Parkway Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument Anacostia Park Please note that most parks cannot offer housing or travel funds if you apply for an opportunity at a park not within a drivable distance from the teacher’s home or school. Also, one of the primary goals of the program is to develop relationships between parks and their local education communities. We encourage teachers to inquire about the TRT program at NPS units in their local areas.
