Dalam bahasa Indonesia kata ini biasa digunakan untuk merujuk kepada “kesusastraan” atau sebuah jenis tulisan yang memiliki arti atau keindahan tertentu. Sastra bisa dibagi menjadi sastra tertulis atau sastra lisan (sastra oral). Di sini sastra tidak banyak berhubungan dengan tulisan, tetapi dengan bahasa yang dijadikan wahana untuk mengekspresikan pengalaman atau pemikiran tertentu. (https://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sastra) Berbicara mengenai karya sastra, ada banyak contoh karya satra yang dapat dikaji. Salah satu diantaranya yaitu anime. Anime adalah animasi dari Jepang yang digambar dengan tangan maupun menggunakan teknologi komputer. Kata anime merupakan singkatan dari "animation" dalam bahasa Inggris, yang merujuk pada semua jenis animasi. Di luar Jepang, istilah ini digunakan secara spesifik untuk menyebutkan segala animasi yang diproduksi di Jepang. Meskipun demikian, tidak menutup kemungkinan bahwa anime dapat diproduksi di luar Jepang. (https://id.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anime) UNIVERSITAS SUMATERA UTARA Anime di Jepang sangatlah banyak. Mulai dari anime movie sampai anime yang berepisode bahkan yang berseason. Tentunya sebuah karya sastra mempunyai genre masing – masing, sama halnya dengan karya sastra anime juga mempunyai genre. Ada genre romantis ada genre komedi, horor, thriller (psikopat), fantasi, dan lain sebagainya. Salah satu anime yang sangat populer di Jepang adalah anime berjudul Hunter X Hunter karya Yoshihiro Togashi. Hunter X Hunter adalah anggota dari suatu kelompok elit yang memiliki segala macam izin untuk melakukan apapun dimanapun. Hunter X Hunter bercerita tentang seorang anak laki-laki bernama Gon Freecss berumur 12 tahun yang mengembara untuk menemukan ayahnya yang sudah lama pergi dan tak pernah kembali. Gon sangat polos, baik, dan setia kawan. Di dalam perjalanannya, Gon bertemu dengan Killua Zoldyck pada ujian hunter dan sejak saat itu Gon dan Killua menjadi teman yang baik. Killua Zoldyck adalah salah satu tokoh utama dan sahabat Gon
