The Art of Disney, located at ® Marketplace, features a large variety of styles and types of art by Disney artists. Browse the pieces of art at the store and take a moment to watch a Disney sketch artist at work.

Stop by Festival of the Masters, an open-air art festival held each fall at Downtown Disney Area. There you will discover one-of-a-kind paintings and meet award-winning artists. Visit disneyworld.com for dates and details.

Many of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels offer beautiful landscapes to inspire your own paintings. Capture the lush pine and cypress trees surrounding Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the koi ponds and thatched roofs of Disney’s Polynesian Resort, or the New England seaside charm of Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. The larger-than-life iconic props at Disney’s All-Star Resorts and Disney’s Pop Century Resort are great subjects for still-life painting. Use your imagination to find inspiration for other painting subjects throughout the Theme Parks and Resort Hotels.

Study the colors in the art you viewed throughout your Disney trip, as well as in nature and the around you. Ask yourself how these colors make you feel. Try painting an object in a different color than what it normally is. For instance, paint ’s shorts blue or Belle’s dress green. How do these changes in color affect your thoughts and feelings?

Be on the look-out for inspiration from interesting leaves or seeds you might encounter throughout the Theme Parks and Resort Hotels and incorporate their beauty into your art. Remember, to leave these items behind for others to enjoy and take photos instead.

As you walk through Castle at Magic Kingdom Park, inspect the amazingly detailed mosaic mural—including tiles made of real 14-karat gold—and enjoy vignettes from the 1950 Disney animated classic, Cinderella. The mural contains one million pieces of glass in approximately 500 different colors. Think about ways other Disney stories could be expressed through paintings. Use this mural as inspiration to create your very own mural painting when you return home.

As you walk around World Showcase at Epcot, ask Cast Members about different games and sports in their home country. Compare and contrast these with your favorite games. How are the rules different? For added fun, try out some of these new games or make changes to ones you already know!

Learn about teamwork firsthand by completing Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom.

Divide your group into teams of two and take turns designing your own rollercoaster at Sum of All Thrills™ in Innoventions at Epcot.

Use the outdoor space at your Disney Resort Hotel to practice teamwork as you try out new team games.

Play the Popcorn game while waiting for the bus or standing in line.

Be a spectator at one of the games or competitions happening at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Each week, dozens of teams compete at this state-of-the-art sports facility.

Make up word games that you can play while waiting in line for attractions. Play games, such as “I, Spy,” as you walk throughout the theme parks. In the outdoor space at your Disney Resort Hotel, play active games or hold relay races.

Watch televised sporting events from across the country as you dine at ESPN Club at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.

Take a trip to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and learn about what types of sports women play there. Ask female Cast Members what sports they enjoy playing.

Legacy - Citizen Celebrating Community

World Showcase at Epcot features pavilions that represent the culture and cuisine of 11 different countries. While walking around World Showcase, pay attention to the flags and symbols that represent each country. Ask a Cast Member in one of the pavilions what symbols are special to them.

KidCot Fun Stops are located at each country. Create a souvenir craft and learn about each country as you “travel around the world.” On your adventure, talk about why symbols such as flags are so important.

Think about how music contributes to your favorite Disney movie or attraction. How do the songs add to the experience? Think about songs that are special to you, your community and your country. Attend one of the Voices of Liberty performances in The American Adventure at Epcot to hear traditional American songs. Talk about what these songs mean and practice singing some of them yourself.

Join in the fun as you watch Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It! Street Party at Magic Kingdom Park.

Watch the Spirit of America Fife & Drum Corps in front of The American Adventure at Epcot and observe the spirited military formations. After the show, talk with the performers and ask them to demonstrate how to march. Use your new moves throughout the Theme Parks.

World Showcase is full of landmarks. Look for landmarks in each country, such as the Eiffel Tower in France. Mark the landmarks that you find on an Epcot park map, and talk about the significance of each one.

Watch the daily flag retreat ceremony at Magic Kingdom Park. Where else have you seen the American flag at the Disney Parks? (Hint: Be on the lookout as you enter)

Get a more in-depth look at the greenhouses in Epcot during the Behind the Seeds tour. Watch how new methods are being developed to cultivate plants around the world and help make the Earth a healthier place to live. You will also learn how the produce grown at Epcot goes from the greenhouse to restaurants throughout the Theme Park. Look at the menus and talk about (and enjoy!) the healthy snacks that are offered.

Discuss your favorite savory snacks and where you might find them in the Theme Parks. Explore savory foods from around the world and try something you have never had before at the Quick Service Dining locations around World Showcase.

Legacy - First Aid Brownie First Aid

Guest safety is the #1 priority at the Walt Disney World Resort. What are some other safety features you notice in the Theme Parks and Resort Hotels? Where can you go for assistance and who should you talk to while you are here at the Walt Disney World Resort? Can you find these locations on your Theme Park maps?

Ask a lifeguard at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon or Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Parks for some safety tips! Disney Security and First Aid Center Cast Members will also have some ideas for you to stay safe on your trip. What new tips did you learn?

To prepare for your arrival at the Walt Disney World Resort, make a first aid kit to carry with you! What kind of things might you need? (Hint: you might want to include sun block, bandages, ointment and pain reliever.) Ask an adult for help when you prepare and use this kit. Visit a First Aid location in the Theme Parks and ask about what types of things they include in their first aid kits.

Our First Aid Cast Members are prepared to treat many types of minor injuries. Ask them what steps they take to treat these issues.

Whether in a Theme Park or at a Resort Hotel, much of your time at the Walt Disney World Resort will be spent outdoors, enjoying the weather and scenery. Before you arrive, research common outdoor injuries, their causes, and how to prevent or cure them. Once you are here, go on a hike or talk with a nature expert at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park to learn more about outdoor injuries and to put your knowledge into use!

While traveling to Walt Disney World Resort, learn new Girl Scout songs or practice some of your favorites! Attend the outdoor sing-along, offered every Friday and Saturday night at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, and sing classic campfire songs while connecting with other Guests.

Be sure to listen for fun and interesting sounds in nature in the Theme Parks and Resort hotels, and find ways to incorporate these sounds in songs.

You can celebrate a birthday here at the Walt Disney World Resort! If you have a birthday girl in your group, pick up a birthday button at your Resort Hotel or at Guest Relations in the Theme Parks. Make sure to wish other Guests with these buttons a Happy Birthday!

Don’t worry if it isn’t your birthday! You can celebrate your UN-Birthday with a spin on the at the Magic Kingdom Park.

Think about all the ways sisterhood and togetherness are represented at Disney through stories. Every Princess has a friend to help and inspire her! How can you show your sisterhood while on your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort? You can make a flag, t-shirt or bag to carry around on your vacation to represent your Girl Scout sisterhood. Or wear your Girl Scout uniform!

Throughout the parks, you can carry out the Girl Scout Law by picking up after yourselves and leaving every area neat. Throw out out your garbage after meal time or make your bed in your room at your Resort Hotel. How do Disney Cast Members work to make the Theme Parks and the resort hotels ready for your visit?

Traditions are one thing that make Girl Scouts so special! On your way to the Walt Disney World Resort, look through old handbooks and ask your leaders about Girl Scouts when they were younger. Learn about an old tradition, such as a song or story, or make a new one. Share this tradition with Cast Members and new Girl Scouts you meet.

Bonus: Talk to Cast Members at World Showcase in Epcot and ask about if they know Girl Scouts in their respective countries. Ask questions about the traditions they follow.

To learn about bugs and other types of animals, head to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. Conservation Station is a great place to learn about all types of bugs. Talk with a Cast Member about all of the interesting things you see. Carry a notepad and pencil to sketch any interesting bugs!

Any time you are outdoors in the Theme Parks or Resort Hotels, be on the lookout for bugs. Get down on their level and check out the grass. Observe their behavior and discuss the reasons behind it. Visit during the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival to see a variety of butterflies in a specially created garden. Check disneyworld.com for dates and details.

Head to the trails at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park and observe bugs in their various habitats. Be sure to bring magnifying glasses to get a close-up look and notepads to capture your observations. Ask Cast Members questions about what you see. Discuss your findings with your troop. Do you have a favorite bug or did you find one you haven’t seen before?

Become an honorary bug in the Disney• 3-D attraction, It’s Tough to be a Bug!® at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. Check out the educational exhibits about insects after you exit the theater to learn more.

Become an animator and learn how to create a Disney character step by step at .

Before you travel to the Walt Disney World Resort, get together with your troop and, with your leaders’ assistance, use the Internet to plan out your trip. Look up maps, attractions and restaurants and plan where to stop along the way. Taking a digital journey before your arrival will help you get acquainted with the area and boost your excitement for the adventure to come! It’s Your World – Healthy Living My Best Self

Bring your Elf Self along with you to Walt Disney World Resort! At Epcot, color and add details to your Elf Self as you move throughout the KidCot Fun Stops. Share your Elf Self with the other girls in your troop and talk about the unique traits that make you special and different.

Head over to The Land Pavilion at Epcot! Set sail on Living with the Land to discover the latest developments in and learn how produce is being grown in new and unique ways.

As a group, pick some new and healthy snacks to sample from the Sunshine Seasons food court at Epcot. Commit to choosing healthy food items and try drinking water or milk over sugary drinks. Take note of the exciting alternatives you can find throughout the Theme Parks and Resort Hotels.

With your fellow troop members, think of common reasons why you might get an upset stomach. Use your new knowledge about healthy foods to pick what tummy-healthy snacks and meals to eat while you are on vacation.

Carry a journal with you in the Theme Parks. Throughout the day, record in words and pictures (you can use the “feelings faces”) how activities, sights and experiences make you feel. You can even take pictures! Did going on an attraction make you feel scared or excited? Did seeing a show make you feel happy or sad? Compare your notes with your notes from a journal from home and discuss how your feelings were similar and different on vacation and at home.

Discuss how you will plan to eat in a healthy way and stay safe while at the Walt Disney World Resort. Take photos to document your trip (and maybe a yummy meal) and share with your troop!

Exploring the Disney Theme Parks is a physical activity, so make sure to get warmed up before you go. When you meet each morning, elect one girl as the stretch leader and stretch as a group. Bend your body into letter shapes and spell out Disney-themed words for an extra-special warm-up. See if you can do “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from . While you’re at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, observe the animals and use them as inspiration in your stretches.

It’s Your Planet – Outdoors Hiker

Walt Disney World Resort offers many perfect locations to go hiking. Check out the trails on the Theme Park and Resort Hotel maps, especially Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

Take a practice hike through one of the Theme Parks before you hit the trail. Pick an attraction and follow your park map and directional signs to find it. Trace your chosen hiking trail on your map to make it darker and talk about what Disney sites you may see while you’re on your adventure.

Before you leave for your trip, pack appropriate hiking gear, even if you only plan to “hike” in the Theme Parks. Make sure to bring sneakers, socks, a backpack and a water bottle. Once you arrive at your trail or Theme Park, talk about what types of gear you might need for a bigger hike.

Bring an energy-filled snack, such as mixed nuts or granola, or plan to eat a healthy, light meal while you are on your Disney hiking experience!

Use the signage along the trails at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park to identify the animals and plants you see as you are on your hike. Keep a journal and take photos of your favorites to share later with your troop!

Go on ® at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. While in the queue line, observe the pictures and artifacts to learn more about hiking and gain inspiration.

It’s Your Planet – Practical Life Skills My Great Day

Start your day at the Walt Disney World Resort off right. Set the alarm clock provided in your Resort Hotel room or request a magical wake-up call. Choose your clothes the night before so you are well-rested and ready for fun.

Take advantage of the drawers and hangers provided in your Resort Hotel room. Unpack and hang up your clothes and find a place for your books and toys. Make sure things stay in their place and the room is neat. Keep your suitcase organized so it is easy to unpack when you get home.

Create a calendar of activities for your trip and be sure to include a list of your ‘must-see’ attractions and shows. Visit disneyworld.com to see the latest show times, Theme Park hours and attraction information so you can plan your trip.

Practice independence by packing your own suitcase for your trip. Consider the weather and your activities when making your clothes selections. Then, each night of the trip, select and lay out your outfit for the next day. Pack a small sewing kit and stain remover for emergencies.
