Decorating Killasser Church for Christmas We will be decorating the Church for Christmas from 4pm to 9pm or 10pm or until we have finished on Thusday 14th Dec in Killasser Chruch. We are very grateful to the families of those who will be making 1st Communion next April who have offered to help us during this time as well as those who always helps us. Anyone else may help as well. Offertory Collection for last week amounted to €1,138.95. Thanks to all who contributed. Work at Killasser Church in advance of Jubilee Plans are at an advanced stage for the preparation for the 150th celebrations to be held on the 3rd November 2018. It is also proposed to have a gathering in mid August and other events to celebrate the occasion. Work is due to commence in early January on the exterior to include demolishing the existing toilet and building a New Disabled Toilet, Boundary Walls with Entrance and Exit facility, Natural Stone Pillars. This project has been awarded to the Goldrick Brothers. Cost is over 30,000 Euro. Further discussion will take place on the interior of the Church. If all PAYE and self-employed workers would sign the Revenue Certificate available at the church door, this would be a great help towards the funding of the project. It will not interfere with their taxes and will not involve any contact between them and Revenue. The Revenue office will repay to the church, which is a registered charity, a percentage of all monies the taxpayer has paid to Revenue. St Stephen's Day Walk The annual walk on St Stephen's Day will begin this year at the Killasser Community Centre at 12 noon. We hope that everyone will join in this fun event and enjoy some refreshments afterwards in the Community Centre. The proceeds from the walk will be given to the Killasser Church Jubilee fund to help with the refurbishment work which will begin soon. Killasser/Callow Annual Christmas Party is on Dec 17th in Frank's place. Three course meal served at 6 o'clock followed by music and dance. Killasser To Host A Feast Of Music & Song For Christmas On The 17th DecemberKate Heneghan & her mother, two sisters and brother will be singing for us at the 11.30 mass in Killasser on the 17th December. She will be on the Paul Claffey show on Midwest the week before that talking about Killasser. All are welcome on the day. She is a member of Hurricane Highway. For information please email [email protected] or contact 087 7454032 GAUDETE SUNDAY For the past several decades, each year on Gaudete Sunday, the Third Sunday of Advent, children & adults bring their Baby Jesus figures from the crib at their homes to St. Peter’s Square where the Pope will bless both the people & the figurines during the Angelus. This year we will celebrate “Bambinelli Sunday” at our Mass on Sunday, December 17th.
