Local Attractions in and around Deadwood! The City of Deadwood offers plenty of attractions for groups of any size! Watch a live shoot out reliving Wild Bill Hickok and Jack McCall right on Main Street nightly at 8pm during the summer. Following the shooting is the Trial of Jack McCall. Cost to attend the trial is $5 adults, $3 Children and $4 Seniors. Tour around Deadwood on Deadwood’s Original Bus Tour. They start with the Ft. Laramie Treaty of 1868. Tell you about Custer's Expedition to the Black Hills, that incidentally started the Gold Rush of 1874. They continue on with tales of the infamous Jack McCall and end with present time history. You will see historical landmarks, points of interest and the Chinese and Badland sections of town. The cost is $6.00 per person Gulches of Fun in Deadwood is a great place for families. They offer group discounts on wrist bands for full days or half days. Original Deadwood Tours works closely with The Lodge in providing narrated tours of Deadwood. They are quite entertaining! Phone number is 605-578-3807 If you are looking to spend a whole day touring the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore Tours-Fort Hayes Chuckwagon in Rapid City would be a great way to see it all. Here they provide your bus/group with a tour guide and take you to see places such as Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park and all the lakes and scenery along the way! This runs right around $235/bus for a tour guide. If you don’t come on a bus and have a smaller group they do have buses that they provide with a tour guide. Once on the tour, the bus stops along the way for a lunch. Each person pays for their own lunch. The tour ends around 8pm with a chuckwagon dinner and entertainment! You can reach them at 605-343-3113. Another fun attraction is the 1880 Train in Hill City. Round trip this tour lasts just over 2 hours and is a great way to see the Southern Hills! You do need to make reservations for larger groups. This tour runs around $11 for kids 3-12 and $20 for 13+ and adults. You can make reservations at 605-574-2222 Spearfish Canyon is the perfect place to take a Sunday drive. With it’s beauty and serenity you will enjoy the drive and take in a sense of relaxation. There are two waterfalls right in the canyon! Roughlock Falls and Bridal Veil Falls are both a must see. Some enjoy rock climbing, fly fishing and hiking in Spearfish Canyon. These are all free!
