ITINERARY - 10 DAY TOUR

Tuesday, May 28 Vancouver to the Rockies Make your way to Vancouver’s Pacific Central Station and check in by 7:00 PM to get your accommodation assignments and baggage checked. Join fellow travellers in the departure lounge to board the famous train at 8:00 PM and settle in for an 8:30 PM departure. Your train winds its way through Vancouver’s eastern suburbs and lower as you settle in. By nightfall you are well into the Coastal Mountains and the before you retire in a cabin for the night. Wednesday, May 29 The Rockies & Jasper B L You awaken in the heart of the Rockies enjoying the fantastic scenery all day. Enjoy breakfast and lunch in the dining car. By 4:00 PM a stop is made in Jasper where you disembark and cross the street to Whistler’s Inn for the night. Dinner is on your own. Thursday, May 30 Jasper Today is free in Jasper. You can sleep in and have a leisurely breakfast or brunch. Some will want to take a day excursion in the village and area by tour bus or why not spend the day going on a tour along the icefields parkway and experience a walk on the Athabasca Glacier. Friday, May 31 Jasper to Prince George D At 12:15 PM board the Skeena for its departure through Yellowhead Pass and northwest through the Rocky Mountain Trench. The Jasper-Prince Rupert train is a two-day journey from the rugged splendour of Jasper National Park and the Canadian Rockies to the haunting beauty of the Pacific Coast. The first day of the journey you follow the mostly before it turns south on its way to the Pacific. You arrive in Prince George shortly after 7:00 PM and stay in a comfortable hotel near the station tonight. B L D Saturday, June 1 Prince George to Prince Rupert Breakfast is served at the hotel before you go to the station by 7:30 AM for the continuation of your journey west to Prince Rupert (departing at 8:00 AM.) This trip is the most scenic of rail journeys and called VIA Rail’s best kept secret. You pass wild rivers, mountains, gorges, high bridges, native culture and the occasional small town. Arrival in Prince Rupert is planned for 8:25 PM where you stay the night in a downtown hotel. Sunday, June 2 Prince Rupert to Haida Gwaii B Today is free for you to explore Prince Rupert. Leave by BC on the Northern Adventure (or Explorer) late evening at 11:00 PM and spend the night in a cabin aboard the ship. Monday, June 3 Haida Gwaii B L Arrive in the morning in at 6:00 AM. A bus will pick you up and you are transferred to your hotel for check in followed by breakfast. Then a tour of Naikoon Park, North Beach, Agate Beach, and for a packed lunch, then back to the hotel for dinner on your own. Tuesday, June 4 Haida Gwaii B After breakfast at the hotel, our 9 am tour begins of the Skidigate Heritage Museum, and lunch and free time in Queen Charlotte City followed by Balancing Rock and Tell Art Route, and back to the hotel for dinner on your own. Wednesday, June 5 Haida Gwaii B L D After a leisurely breakfast your tour bus will pick you up for a tour of Logging museum, and Golden Spruce Trail for a packed lunch. Then off to for the Dixon Maritime Museum, Delkatla Bird Sanctuary and a tour of Old Masset. The evening is capped off with an authentic Haida dinner and long house dance. Thursday, June 6 Haida Gwaii to Vancouver On this the last day, early morning is free before you are transferred to for your Pacific Coastal Airlines flight at 11:30 AM arriving in Vancouver (YVR) just before 2:00 pm.
