Batters reported as follows:- Flooding at Woodland Glade – Cormac will be returning to follow up. Flooding near Mr. Kendall’s farm has arisen again and this may be pursued by Cornwall Council but they need a good amount of information built up. Cotton Wood, Nanstallon – hedge trimming has been carried out at the request of a local land owner. Recycling Centre, Lanivet – he had followed up about the additional land and he has been informed by telephone they will be investigation. Treliggan to Tregullon and Fenton Pits to Tredinnick – Cormac will be carrying out resurfacing repairs in both of these areas. Cornwall Council will not be carrying out any more ploughing to roads. They will look at individual situations as required and reported. Rachael Tatlow now covers the whole of his area. This does not apply to this Parish Council but he wanted to advise that a lot of Parish Councils are requesting planning applications are taken to Committee and when it goes to Committee the Parish Council do not send a representative. A circular item of correspondence will be sent out.

The presentation of all monitoring features into these catchment maps will assist in developing an integrated approach to catchment management and operation. The water quality monitoring maps and index were originally incorporated into the Catchment Action Plans. They provide a visual presentation of monitored sites within a catchment and enable water quality data to be accessed easily by all departments and external organisations. The maps bring together information from different sections within Water Quality. The routine river monitoring and tidal water monitoring points, the licensed waste disposal sites and the monitored effluent discharges (pic, non-plc, fish farms, COPA Variation Order [non-plc and pic]) are plotted. The type of discharge is identified such as sewage effluent, dairy factory, etc. Additionally, river impact and control sites are indicated for significant effluent discharges. If the watercourse is not sampled then the location symbol is qualified by (*). Additional details give the type of monitoring undertaken at sites (ie chemical, biological and algological) and whether they are analysed for more specialised substances as required by: a. INTRODUCTION River water quality is monitored in 34 catchments in the region. Samples are collected at a minimum frequency of once a month from 422 watercourses at 890 locations within the Regional Monitoring Network. Each sample is analysed for a range of chemical and physical determinands. These sample results are stored in the Water Quality Archive. A computerised system assigns a quality class to each monitoring location and associated upstream river reach. This report contains the results of the 1992 river water quality classifications for each determinand used in the classification process. 2. RIVER WATER QUALITY ASSESSMENT The assessment of river water quality is by comparison of current water quality against River Quality Objectives (RQO's) which have been set for many river lengths in the region. Tremendous Limousin bred prime steers (26m) from JW & CL Stoneman of Sampford Courtenay drew 199ppk and a massive £1440 whilst Limousin heifers (22m) from Reg Wills, Ashburton fetched to 200ppk and £1135. Heavyweight Charolais heifers (29m) from Phillip Haydon of Cheriton Bishop realised a massive £1332 (193ppk) with 700kg plus Limousin steers (27m) totalling to £1313 for Sue Cleave of Christow. A shorter entry of Barren Cows peaked at a notable 149ppk and £1018 for a very smart Angus from Paul Giddy of Downderry with a neat British Blue barrener out of the same trailer rising to 129ppk. Limousin cows from Andrew Cleave, Moretonhampstead eased to 116ppk followed by his mighty 988kg Limousin cull bull at £1081 (110ppk) whilst a South Devon cross cow from Phil Hutchings, Chagford also saw 110ppk.     The South Cornwall River Improvement Project A Catchment Restoration Fund Project The South Cornwall River Improvement Project (SCRIP) was a Catchment Restoration Funded Project, which was administered by the Environment Agency. The project was written and delivered by the Westcountry Rivers Trust and steered by its catchment partnership. The project was delivered over three years (2012-2015), with the primary aim of delivering targeted action to make significant steps towards achieving Water Framework Directive (WFD) waterbody objectives set out in the 2009 River Basin Management Plans. This report documents the works delivered under the SCRIP and describes how these works were targeted to ensure that efficient on the ground management was delivered effectively throughout the catchment. Although the SCRIP has completed its final year, the work that has been delivered and the valuable information and data that has been collected will provide a solid foundation to build upon in the future. This not only provides wider benefits to the society and the environment, but also provides a valuable tool to aid in building a sustainable future for the catchment as whole.
