Glen Vernon (AUS) Labrador Specialist & All breed judge.

Glen Vernon commenced judging dogs in 1989. He has judged around the world including the UK, Japan, Indonesia, Canada, Sweden, New Zealand, Thailand, Philippines, Argentina and USA. His Labradors have been extremely successful winning well over 400 best exhibits in show awards. He has also exhibited and won Best in Show with Dalmatian, Pointers, Dobermans, Boston ,Siberian Huskies, British Bulldogs and Keeshonds. He has represented his country twice at the world championships held in florida.

Pieter Tjerkstra (AUS) GSDCA Specialist & All Breeds Judge

Pieter Tjerkstra has been involved for over 30 Years with breeding and showing GSDs. Judging for over 20 Years, having attained Championship Status all Groups GSD Specialty license. He is also a specialist having successfully bred & shown the Staffordshire Bull terrier. He has also owned, Bred & shown the and has judged the QLD Siberian Husky Show and the Alaskan Malamute specialty in Melbourne Victoria. He has judged all over th world including New Zealand, India and China , many of them being GSD specialty shows

SILVY SILVY Mrs. Marion Watson (AUS) Beagle Specialist and All breed Judge.

Mrs. Watson first started judging in 1979 and judged the Inaugural Club Show in Western Australia in 1983. Gained All Breeds Status in 1996 and since then she has judged in many countries all over the world. Her first love was and still is Beagles and she is currently still involved in breeding and exhibiting them, having bred well over 100 Champions in Australia as well as in Canada, USA, New Zealand and Singapore. She has also Bred and Exhibited Dachsunds (Mini Smooth), Border Terriers and owned and exhibited a Large Munsterlander.

Zaur Agabeyli (AZ) Doberman Specialist & All Breeds Judge

Pedigree HyCan’19 is his first Indian Assignment

Zaur is one of the founders of the Kennel Union of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He has lead this organization as a President since 2001. He is the mentor of training courses for judges in Azerbaijan. He has been judging since 2006 and has judged all over the world. Since 1999 he has been breeding under his own kennel name “v. Feuer Stamm”. He has imported several successful dogs in Azerbaijan, breeding dobermanns with very attention on character and health of dogs.

Irina Poletaeva (FIN) All Breeds Judge

Pedigree HyCan’19 is her first Indian Assignment

Irina is a confirmation and working trials judge since 1980. For many years she had been the president of St. Petersburg club, chairman of show committee, member of breeding committee of all Schnauzer breeds. Her work in judging had been honored several times by different awards. In 2013 the Finnish awarded her the Vuolasvirta award, which is the highest award for Finnish breeders as recognition of their outstanding results in breeding. She has bred and owned German shepherds, Airedale terriers, Miniature and East European Shepherd and Doberman.

SILVY SILVY Johnny De A Marques (SA) Obedience & All Breeds Judge

Johnny Marques is a GSD specialist judge, Obedience and all breeds judge senior Judge for the Working, Herding, , Gundog and Terrier groups. He has judged Australian Shepherd and Championship Specialty Shows as well as Boxer, Corgi and White Swiss Shepherd Non-Championship Specialty Shows He is the founding member of the Western Province Alaskan Malamute Club and was Chairman of the club for many years. He currently owns 3 Alaskan Malamutes and has been involved in the breed for 25 years. Pedigree HyCan’19 is his first Indian Assignment

The Show Committee reserves the right to nominate a new judge in the event of any of the above-mentioned judges not being able to fulfil their obligation and should there be more entries than expected in any group the Show Committee reserves the right to allot a breed or breeds to any other judge in the panel or nominate a new judge in order to finish the show on time.

SILVY SILVY WHO CAN PARTICIPATE ?

ELIGIBILITY

Only dogs registered with of India shall compete. Dogs being entered from overseas and if their club is a member of the FCI, are entitled to enter their dogs with the registration number issued by their home club. No R.A.F. entries will be accepted. MALE ANIMALS SHOULD HAVE TWO APPARENTLY NORMAL TESTICLES DESCENDED INTO THE SCROTUM. Bitches in season cannot compete in obedience trials.

Children between 12 years and 16 years of age can compete in Junior Handling Competition.

VETERINARY EXAM All Dogs must undergo a mandatory veterinary examination at the entrance without which they will not be permitted in the ring. Sick (temporarily ill or suffering from a contagious illness) or lame dogs or those males which show atrophy of the testicles and bitches which are lactating or which are accompanied by their will be excluded from any dog show. Bitches on heat are allowed to participate in the breed class and not in the Obedience Trials. Blind or deaf dogs are not eligible to participate at the show. However, should this ruling not be observed and a judge discovers that a dog is deaf or blind, he/she has to send the dog out of the ring. Dogs with docked tails or cropped ears will be admitted to the show.

It is forbidden to treat the coat, skin or nose with anything that alters the structure, colour or form. It is forbidden to prepare the dog in the show ground with any substances or equip- ment. Only combing and brushing are allowed. It is also forbidden to leave the dog tied up on the trimming table longer than necessary for the preparation.

Note: Microchips (ISO-standard) and tattoos are accepted equally. If in the relevant country there are no scanners for reading, the exhibitor including the overseas exhibitor will have to bring his own scanner to enable the dog to be cleared through customs and sent back. The organising committee reserves the right not to accept the participation of any exhibitor at the show.

There are 3 options for exhibitors at Pedigree HYCAN’19. It is mandatory for exhibitors to choose one of them.

a. Twin Shared A/C Bench for 2 days (8 x4 in A/C hall can accommodate 2 dogs one chair provieded per exhibitor) ` 3,000 Inclusive of entry fee and catalogue

b. Premium A/C Kennels* for 2 days: (10’x10’ in a/c hall can accommodate 4 dogs) Note: Dog Show will be in the adjacent Hall - ` 30,000 Inclusive of 4 dogs’ entry fee and catalogue

c. Premium Car parking* near hall for 2 days (Limited parking adjacent to hall) - ` 5,000 *Available on first come first serve basis.

SILVY SILVY ENFORCEMENT & AMENDMENT OF RULES The decision of the show committee is final subject only to appeal to the KCI. Should ques- tions arise which are not provided for in the rules, the committee’s decision will be final. Any breach of the rules and / or KCI regulations will render the exhibitors liable to disciplinary action by committee. Exhibitors are also liable for any damage caused by the, their aides or dogs. The committee reserves the right to refuse or accept any entry without assigning any reason whatsoever.

RING STEWARDS: All the Ring Stewards are KCI licensed, any indiscipline by the exhibitors will attract appro- priate action on ring steward’s recommendation as per KCI rules.

CHALLENGE CERTIFICATES: & CACIBS CACIB an FCI International Award will also be awarded at the two FCI International Shows apart from Challenge Certificates. Only one CACIB will be awarded for each sex in accor- dance with the FCI breed Nomenclature for the Dog Breeds - on the same day and at the same place. At the Hyderabad Canine Club’s twin Championship Dog Shows only Challenge Certificates will be awarded and attractive Trophies and prizes befitting the occasion will be awarded to winners. Indian breeds are not eligible for CACIB as they are not yet recognised by the FCI. Similarly, dogs with unknown parentage are not eligible for CACIB, but are eli- gible for CC and other top placings. and CC winners with BOB or RBOB are only eligible to participate for Best of Group line up. CC cards to be collected before you leave the show hall, or they will be couriered to your address.

SILVY SILVY PRIZES AND AWARDS All prizes in all the classes, best of Breed and Reserve Best of Breed award will be handed over in the ring, please collect the prizes immediately after winning from the official table of that ring. All owners are advised to keep their dogs in dog boxes/cages only. Please ensure that the cages are of the right size. Only one dog is permitted in each cage. Alternatively, please ensure that there is one attendant / handler with each dog. Unattended dogs will be evicted from the show hall.

ANNOUNCEMENT Numbers will NOT be called over the public address system. There would be no announce- ments. Exhibitors are required to follow the judging order which would be printed in the cat- alogue and also displayed at various places at the show. The club shall not be held respon- sible if the exhibitors are not present in the ring when their class is being judged and their exhibits have been marked absent. Creation of any sort of commotion or unpleasantness if a class is missed will automatically call for stringent action against the handler / owner.

FOULING OF THE SHOW PREMISES Exhibitors are reminded that a person in charge of a dog which fouls any part of the show open to the public is liable to a fine of` 500/- Plenty of “pooper” Scoops are available for the use of the exhibitors, So there is no excuse for not cleaning up after your dog.

SILVY SILVY AMBUSH MARKETING CLAUSE The Hyderabad canine Club Strictly prohibits ANY company / brand that is not associated with the show from promoting, displaying or advertising their product/Brand at the venue or in any pre/post show promotion/advertising. Exhibitors and visitors are advised not to wear T-shirts, caps etc that promote a brand. The organisers are authorised to take appro- priate action against the violators. Commercial space at the HyCan dog show is sold at a premium to discerning companies. Only such stall holders are permitted to make sales at their counters. Exhibitors are strictly warned not to indulge in sale of items. Any person found engaging in commercial activity (including but not limited to sale of leashes, collars, belts etc), is liable to pay double the stall charge of a premium stall at the show.

RESTRICTED ENTRY: Other than the dog handler and certain show officials, no exhibitor / owner / visitor / pho- tographer is permitted to enter the ring unless you are called for by the announcer. Those exhibitors who wish to be called into the ring when their dog is placed in the final line up, need to fill in a written request asking to be permitted.

PHOTOGRAPHY: There will be separate areas adjacent to the rings for registered photographers. Those who wish to register, can do so at the club office for a charge of ₹ 1000. All photographs/videos taken at the event will remain the copyright of the club.

DRESS CODE: All exhibitors are requested to come into the ring when showing the Dog in formal dress befitting the show status. Shorts, 3/4th Pants, Micro, Mini skirts and any revealing tops for girls & Ladies are to be avoided. Exhibitors are advised not to wear t-shirts without collar or any big slogans written.

CONDUCT: As per the KCI directive double handling is strictly prohibited. Such of those who resort to double handling inspite of this will automatically entitle the exhibit and the exhibitor to be sent out after a preliminary warning. Smoking and drinking in public is an offence and strictly prohibited. Hence any one found smoking or drinking at the show grounds would be sent out.

WORKING CLASS: To enter a dog in working .class, the entry form must be accompanied by a copy of the FCI compulsory certificate containing the confirmation - by the member country in which the holder and / or owner has his permanent place of residence - that the dog has passed the test as well as the details about this test. It must be ensured that the result of this working test is valid in accordance with FCI regulations.

CHAMPION CLASS: To enter a dog in Champion class, one of the following titles must have been confirmed on the day of the official closing date of entries, proof of this, by copy, must be enclosed with the entry form. *International Champion of the FCI. *Nation- al Champion (this title must have been earned in an FCI member country with at least 2 awards) *Champion-titles of Non-FCI countries may be recognised.

SILVY SILVY Qualifications and Placings the qualifications given by the judges would correspond to the following definitions:

EXCELLENT may only be awarded to a dog which comes very close to the ideal standard of the breed, which is presented in excellent condition, displays asture. Its superior characteristics in respect of its breed permit that minor imperfections can be ignored; it must however have the typical features of its sex.

VERY GOOD may only be awarded to a dog which possesses the typical features of Its breed, which has well-balanced proportions and is in correct condition. A few minor faults may be tolerated but none of a morphological nature. This award can only be granted to a dog that shows class.

GOOD is to be awarded to a dog that possesses the main features of its breed however showing faults provided these are not concealed.

SUFFICIENT mist be awarded to a dog which corresponds adequately to its breed, without possessing the generally accepted characteristics or whose physical condition leaves something to be desired.

DISQUALIFIED must be awarded to a dog which does not correspond to the type required by the breed standard; which shows a behaviour clearly not in line with its standard or which behaves aggressively; which has testicular abnormalities; which has dental flaw or a jaw anomaly; which shows a colour and/or coat imperfection or clearly shows signs of albinism. This qualification shall also be awarded to dogs that correspond so little to a single feature of the breed that their health is threatened. It should furthermore be awarded to dogs that show eliminating faults in regard to the breed standard.

Dogs that cannot be awarded one of the above qualifications shall be released from the ring with the rating:

CANNOT BE JUDGED this rating is to be given to any dog which does not move, constantly jumps up and down on its handler or tries to get out of the ring, makes it impossible to assess the gait and the movement or avoids constantly to be examined by the judge and makes it impossible to inspect teeth, anatomy and structure, tail or testicles. This rating is also to be given If traces of operations or treatment can be observed which seem to indicate that the exhibitor wanted to deceive the judge. The same applies if the judge has ample reason to suspect operations that were intended to correct the original condition or feature (e.g.: eyelid, ear or tail). The reason why the dog was rated CANNOT BE JUDGED has to be stated in the judge’s report. The four best dogs in each class are placed provided that they have been awarded at least the qualification “Very

SILVY SILVY Good”. TITLES AND AWARDS CACIB - Certificat d’Aptitude au Championnat International de Beaute de la FCI

The only dogs which can be taken into consideration for the CACIB are those which have been awarded “EXCELLENT 1st “. A CACIB can only be awarded if the dog in question has been assessed as being of superior quality. The CACIB is not automatically and compulsorily linked to the “EXCELLENT 1st “. The Reserve CACIB is awarded to the second-best dog which was given the qualification “EXCELLENT”. It is however not compulsory to award the Reserve CACIB.

The judge awards CACIB and RESERVE CACIB according to the quality of the dogs without checking whether they meet the conditions regarding age and/or registration with a studbook recognised by the FCI.

The CAC (Certificat d’Aptitude au Championnat) is a national grading. It is up to the national kennel clubs to decide in which classes and to which dogs this certificate can be awarded. The CAC counts towards a national champion title.

The dog and the bitch which are proposed for the CACIB along with the best junior dog and the best junior bitch which have received the qualification “1st Excellent” in the Junior class and the best veteran dog and the best veteran bitch which have received the qualification “1st Excellent” in the Veteran class can also compete for the Best of Breed.

Dogs of FCI breeds which are not recognised (have a provisional status), although not eligible for the CACIB, are allowed to compete for the Best of Breed only; not for Best of Group and Best in Show competitions.

NOTE: A dog imported from abroad shall be eligible to be entered in the class that it is eligible according to its age and also in Open Class.

Unbeaten puppies entered in Puppy class and unbeaten Champion puppies only will be eligible to compete for the Best Puppy of the Show award.

All Exhibits with unknown parentage will not be allowed to compete for Best in Show Bred in India and Best Puppy in Show awards.

ANIMAL HEALTH This show is being conducted under the aegis of the KCI. Exhibitors are obligated to educate themselves on all the rules and regulations pertaining to dog show in India.

PENALTY » Any willful misrepresentation regarding ownership, age, name, pedigree, etc. » Any dog entered and prepared for exhibition, in contravention of K.C.I regulations, willbe liable for disciplinary action by the committee. » Double handling: As per the KCI directive double handling is strictly prohibited. Any exhibit double handled is liable to be disqualified from the show. PROTESTS All protests must be accompanied with a fees of ` 2000 in cash , which is refundable in case the protest is upheld. Protest in writing must be submitted either to the President or Show Secretary before the end of the show. The TOP 10 dogs will be – BOB,BOS, 2 CC, 2 RCC, Best Puppy & Reserve, Best Bred in India & Reserve. GRAND WINNER award is given to the dog that has won a 1st BIS at the show and has the cumulative highest ranking among the four shows’ BIS line ups. In the event of a tie, the dog with higher ranking in the HCC shows will be awarded the trophy.

BEST HANDLER and BEST LADY HANDLER award is selected from among the handlers of the group winners of the 46th HCC Championship Show. Award will be presented with the line Up.

WHO ARE THE JUDGES?

Karla Addington-Smith

Karla Addington-Smith is an award winning and Certified Master Groomer from Cincinnati, Ohio. Spending 40 + years in the world of professional dog grooming, Karla is a grooming contest winner, former Groom Team USA member, IJA sanctioned contest judge, noted speaker and writer. Her most prestigious win was the 1988 Best American Groomer title at Intergroom with a named Derrick.

Karla has amassed four Cardinal Crystal Achievement Awards spanning a decade in the 1990’s as well as a host of awards for her articles on grooming and business related topics, including her book, Introduction to The Foundations of Dog Grooming which was a Dog Writers Association of America Best Book Nominee. Today, Karla owns and operates the premium services salon, A Fortunate Dog Spa, in Maineville, Ohio.

Shannon Tupes

Director of Grooming &Education for Espree, Shannon is an award winning Pet Stylist and 2013 Groom Team USA Member. She is a NDGAA, IPG, and IGA Certified Master Groomer. She also judges for IJA and IGA. Shannon does seminars for Barkleigh Productions and IJA on a wide range of topics. She was a very successful breeder, owner, handler of Yorkshire Terriers, and served as Chairman of the Health Committee for the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America.
