LEADERSHIP TRACK CAMP WAITOMO 7 - 9 October 2011 Meet Windsor Park: 4.00pm Friday Returning Windsor Park: 5.00pm Sunday Cost $100 (includes transport, accommodation, instructors, activities) Contact Person: Ben Mathewson 021 867 236 This camp is going to get us back to the basics of communal living… crammed into a hut that is not big enough, cooking your own food, wet and muddy caving (with qualified instructors), long drops and one shower between 30… but it is a guaranteed good time with many challenging leadership experiences. What to Bring: (Essential!) Warm clothes (Jersey x 2, longs x 2) Shorts x 2, multiple t-shirts, undies, socks, sneakers Waterproof Jacket Sleeping Bag & Pillow Toilet gear & Personal Medication Small hand torch such as mag light, batteries & spare batteries Bible, Pen & Journal Food – see cooking groups on separate page Money for takeout dinner on Friday night. Gear for Caving: 3 x thermal tops 3 x thermal long johns Thermal balaclava and/or woolen beanie Thermal gloves (optional) 3 x woolen socks or wetsuit socks Overalls OR old long-sleeved top & pants (cargo pants are good) Gumboots or footwear with good grip Drink bottle Lots of plastic bags for wet gear Hair tie, if you have long hair Woollen or fleece sweatshirt Note 1: If you get cold easily bring more thermals and/or fleece trousers to wear under your overalls. Note 2: It is recommended that you wear overalls but not essential. Overalls are worn to protect yourself and your thermals from abrasion. Note 3: The hut has full cooking facilities including all plates, pots and utensils and hot showers. It is set up like a tramping hut with large bunk beds (5 people on each level!) and includes long drop toilets with a view. Visit http://www.asg.org.nz/links.html to view photos of the hut. COOKING GROUPS: Each group needs to plan, buy, bring and cook their own food. (Friday - supper, Saturday - Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, supper, Sunday - breakfast, morn- ing tea, lunch, afternoon tea) Note: Ensure lunches and morning/afternoon teas/snacks can be carried in back packs. Bring plastic bags and gladwrap for this.
