Medienmitteilung Drei Schweizerinnen Im Hochkarätigen Medienmitteilung Drei Schweizerinnen im hochkarätige n Feld der Ladies Championship Gstaad Gstaad, 6. Juni 2018 – Mit Timea Bacsinszky, Stefanie Vö gele und Viktorija Golubic stehen drei Schweizerinnen als Teilnehmerinnen an den Ladies Championship Gstaad vom 14. bis 22. Juli 2018 fest. Das Turnier ist bei der dritten Austragung besonders namhaft besetzt. Angeführt wird das Feld im Berner Oberland (Entry List siehe nächste Seite) von der Vorjahressiegerin Kiki Bertens (NED, WTA 22), die zu den absoluten Sandplatzspezialistinnen gehört und in den letzten Jahren mit Konstanz und bemerkenswerten Erfolgen auf sich aufmerksam machte. Mit Alizé Cornet (FRA, WTA 34) und der ehemaligen Grand-Slam-Siegerin Samantha Stosur (AUS, WTA 90) erscheinen zwei weitere namhafte Spielerinnen im Gstaader Feld, denen ein Erfolg in der Höhenluft Gstaads absolut zuzutrauen ist. Geheimfavoritinnen aus den USA und Belgien Gespannt sein darf man auch auf die Auftritte der Amerikanerin Danielle Collins (WTA 42), die eine besonders starke Saison spielt und im Porsche Race (Jahreswertung) auf Platz 17 steht, sowie der Belgierin Alison Van Uytvanck (WTA 46), die im Februar in Budapest ihren ersten Turniersieg der Karriere feierte. Erobern die Schweizerinnen den Titel zurück? Trotz sehr starker Konkurrenz werden die Schweizerinnen grosse Ambitionen hegen. Viktorija Golubic (WTA 110) kehrt an den Ort ihres ersten Turniersiegs auf WTA-Level zurück und erhofft sich in heimischen Gefilden zu alter Form zurückzufinden. Nach ihrer verletzungsbedingten Absage im Vorjahr ist die Turnier-Botschafterin Timea Bacsinszky (WTA 63) bis in die Haarspitzen motiviert, "ihr" Turnier endlich zu gewinnen. Fix mit dabei ist ebenfalls Stefanie Vögele (WTA 99), die bislang eine hervorragende Saison spielt, unter anderem mit einer Finalqualifikation in Acapulco. Ladies Championship Gstaad Die dritte Austragung der Ladies Championship Gstaad findet vom 14. bis 22. Juli statt, eine Woche vor dem J. Safra Sarasin Swiss Open Gstaad.
