SALVADOR PEREZ: Had his fifth career multi-HR game and first since Sept. 6, 2017 at Detroit, including a two-run HR in the first and a solo HR in the fourth, his 20th and 21st…he becomes the fifth Royal with at least four straight 20-HR seasons, joining:John Mayberry (1972-75), Steve Balboni (1984-87), Bo Jackson (1987-90) and Mike Sweeney (1999-2002)…he’s the ninth catcher all-time—six of which are in the Hall of Fame—with four 20-HR seasons (consecutive or not) before turning 29, joining: Johnny Bench (7), Brian McCann (6), Yogi Berra (5), Gary Carter (5), Mike Piazza (5), Lance Parrish (4), Ivan Rodriguez (4) and Joe Torre (4). Ê Singled in the sixth to mark his second three-hit game of 2018, and is batting .293/.331/.603 (34-for-116) with 10 HR and 24 RBI in 29 games since July 11. RYAN O’HEARN: Hit a pinch-hit HR in the ninth, the Royals’ second pinch-hit HR in the last 14 days (also: Whit Merrifield on Aug. 2 in Chicago), after not having one in the previous three years (previous: Erik Kratz on Aug. 18, 2014 at Minnesota)…he’s the fourth Royal to hit a pinch-hit HR within his first 10 career games, joining: Larry Sutton (Aug. 28, 1997), Rod Myers (Sept. 12, 1996) and Jamie Quirk (Sept. 20, 1975). JORGE BONIFACIO: Had seven putouts in right field, two shy of the franchise record by a right fielder in a 9.0-inning game, held byEmil Brown (May 17, 2005 vs. Baltimore) and Jermaine Dye (July 18, 1999 at the Cubs). BLUE JAYS: Have won back-to-back games following a 2-6 skid, improving to 12-13 (.480) since the All-Star break, after going 35-39 (.473) post-ASB last season. Ê Including two HR and one triple tonight, Estrada has surrendered 60 extra-base hits this season, second most in the Majors behind only Bartolo Colón (64). KEN GILES: Recorded his 15th save in as many chances—including three with Toronto—and is the only pitcher in the Majors without a blown save (min. 10 saves). KEVIN PILLAR: Had RBI singles in the second and fourth innings, and has nine RBI in 12 games since returning from the DL (sprained right shoulder) on Aug. 3. CURTIS GRANDERSON: Hit a go-ahead grand slam in the fourth—his second HR in the last 33 games—and his 10th career grand slam, second this season vs. Kansas City (April 18 off Justin Grimm)…his 10 slams since 2007 match Edwin Encarnacion & Robinson Cano for most among actives…he’s one of five Blue Jays (6 times) with slams this season, joining: Justin Smoak (April 1), Josh Donaldson (April 9), Yangervis Solarte (May 3 (Game 1)) and Devon Travis (July 11).
