WORK EXPERIENCE: University of Colorado, Denver, Student Research Assistant Aurora, CO (October 2009 - present) - Architected and implemented online power and sample size software for the general linear multivariate model with a single baseline covariate. The software is based on the theoretical work of Glueck & Muller 2003. The software system includes a front-end user interface (GWT, Apache Server), a RESTful web service layer (Java, Restlet, Tomcat), and a low level Java library for power calculations. The software is open-source, and publicly available at http://www.glimmpse.com. - Translated existing SAS/IML code for multivariate power into Java - Worked closely with thesis advisor and other statisticians to gain improved understanding of theoretical basis for power calculations for the general linear multivariate model.

J.D. Power & Associates, Software Engineer 1 Boulder, CO (September 2008 – October 2009) - Designed and implemented Tomcat web service (Java, Hibernate, MySQL) to configure / manage incoming XML and CSV data from third-party blog data providers. - Designed generalized extraction system in Java to parse incoming XML and CSV survey and blog data into internal document format - Developed C++ middleware layer to manage remote configuration of grid-based blog/survey analysis system and to provide communication API for REST web services, MySQL databases, and FTP sites. - Assisted in standardization of software deployment structure to simplify management of computing grid - Developed scripts, SQL queries to assess completeness of incoming blog data from third party data providers - Migrated proprietary build system into Cruise Control continuous integration system

Navitas Cancer Rehabilitation Centers, Physical Therapist Denver, CO (June 2008 – September 2008) - Provided physical therapy services for patients experiencing cancer from diagnosis to survivorship - Provided manual therapy and exercise prescription treatments for orthopedic and neurologic impairments, as well as full body exercise programs to address fatigue related to chemotherapy and radiation - Coordinated care with physicians and nurses to ensure patient safety during cancer treatments

University of Pittsburgh, Neuroscience Teaching Assistant Pittsburgh, PA (Spring & Fall 2007) - Assisted in setup and instruction of neuroscience laboratory sessions for entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy program and Post-professional Master of Physical Therapy program.

Page 2, Sarah Kreidler Fischer Imaging, Contract Software Engineer Denver, CO (November 2004-April 2005) - Worked with a team of software, mechanical, and electrical engineers to redesign a digital mammography system from the ground up - Developed software architecture and implementation to integrate motion control boards, x-ray generator, x-ray camera, image processing board, and communication protocol to user workstation. System was developed in Java and C/C++ for Linux workstation and custom Linux kernel on x-ray gantry - Added minor modifications to Java user interface for viewing and analyzing digital mammography images. - Developed software in accordance with FDA regulations

Arvada Wheat Ridge Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Aide Wheat Ridge, CO (January 2003 – June 2004) - Performed general clinic duties including patient scheduling, typing treatment notes, setting up charts, and maintaining clean examination rooms - Assisted physical therapists with patient care including exercise instruction and modalities - Evaluated new computer systems for patient scheduling and assisted in setup of new system

Fischer Imaging, Software Engineer Denver, CO (July 2001 – January 2003) - Implemented and updated digital mammography software (C/C++ on Solaris) which read images from an x-ray camera, stored patient data in a central SQL database, and displayed images on high- resolution monitors for screening and diagnosis. Compatible with the DICOM standard. - Designed new Java architecture with MySQL database to improve software modularity, ease of maintenance, and reliability - Installed and administered CVS source control system, development tools, and Solaris network - Attended RSNA convention in 2001 and 2002 - Worked with radiologists and mammography technicians to improve software workflow

Terra Lycos, Senior Software Engineer Pittsburgh, PA / Waltham, MA (June 1997 – June 2001) - Developed multi-threaded document indexer for Lycos search engine (C/C++ for Dec Unix and Linux) - Designed and implemented standard word parsing API for integration of 3 rd party Asian language parsers into Lycos products (C for Dec Unix, Linux, and Windows NT) - Developed NSAPI plug-in module for Lycos front-end web servers. Functionality included html scripting language, customized redirects, and query parsing language. Also ported to Apache web server - Edited web page content in HTML, ASP, JavaScript, and Lycos proprietary scripting language - Developed probability-based query analysis tool to suggest related search strings for a user’s query
