[email protected] Resumen: Se detallan los datos obtenidos en los muestreos sistemáticos realizados con periodicidad mensual, durante 2018, en una parcela de media hectárea del paraje denominado “Barranco de Carabaña” (Cortegana-Huelva-España), integrada dentro del Parque Natural de la Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche. Los resultados muestran la riqueza y la abundancia de las diferentes especies del orden Lepidoptera. También se comparan con los datos obtenidos en los trabajos precedentes, correspondientes al periodo 2003-2016 (Bernabé-Ruiz & Huertas Dionisio, 2018) y a la anualidad 2017 (Bernabé-Ruiz et al., 2019). Durante 2018 se han identificado un total de 1.257 ejemplares, correspondientes a 208 especies, integradas en 33 familias diferentes. De ellas, 53 son nuevas para la zona de estudio y 22 para la provincia de Huelva. Otras 31 registradas en 2018, inéditas en 2017, repiten del periodo 2003-2016. Coinciden 124 en las dos anualidades con muestreos sistemáticos, 2017 y 2018. La diversidad total de lepidópteros, incluida la campaña 2018, comprende 337 especies agrupadas en 37 familias diferentes. Palabras clave: Lepidoptera; riqueza específica; abundancia; clima; P.N. -

Three new species of the genera Cremastus Grav . and Nothocremastus Dasch are described. For each of the 63 species currently known from the region all the available distributional data are presented and a zoogeographical typification is proposed. Zusammenfassung Es werden Bestimmungstabellen der westpaläarktischen Gattungen der Cremastinae und der Arten von Cremastus Grav . und Temelucha FOERSTER vorgestellt. Drei neue Arten der Gattungen Cremastus Grav . und Nothocreynastus Dasch werden beschrieben. Für jede der 63 gegenwärtig bekannten Arten des Gebietes werden die Verbreitungsangaben und zoogeographische Bemerkungen geboten. Introduction The present paper concerns the generalized faunistic data, including those not indicated so far, for all 63 species of the investigated region. Thus, it could be regarded as a catalogue of the group. The valid name for each of the species, the name under which the species was described, the name under which it has been reported by different authors for the investigated region, the place and time of collected the new reported material, as well as the general distribution are specified. -

INTRODUCCIÓN El motivo que nos ha movido a publicar estas reseñas bibliográficas de mariposas andaluzas, es por el desconocimiento de las citas de las especies de este orden en las publicaciones españolas y extranjeras. En los suplementos publicados por SOCECO y ahora por SAE -“Lepidópteros de Andalucía”- , hemos encontrado esta falta de información por las pocas citas de las especies tratadas. De todas formas las referencias de los lepidópteros de Andalucía, han estado y están muy desperdigadas en publicaciones extranjeras, por eso era necesário una recopilación de todas ellas, junto con las españolas. Este desconocimiento puede dar lugar a que citemos alguna especie como nueva para España o Andalucía, sin saber si ha estado citada antes, - 5 - M. HUERTAS DIONISIO igual que un extranjero que capture alguna especie andaluza y la cite como nueva, sin consultar los boletines de las Sociedades entomológicas o cualquier otro medio que trate de estos insectos, y comprobar que estaba citada antes. Altogether 115 species are reported, including 10 species indentifed to genus level only and likely including undescribed taxa, and 25 new records for Crete. DNA barcode sequences give evidence to cryptic diversity in some species. K e y w o r d s : Gelechiidae, Crete, new records, DNA barcoding. Introduction With an area of 8,261 km2 Crete (Kreta) is the largest island of Greece and the fifth largest Mediterranean island, stretching about 260 km from east to west and between 12 and 57 km from north to south. Together with a number of small surrounding islands with total area of ca. 65 km2 it constitutes the region of Crete. It is a mountainous island, reaching 2,456 m in the Lefka Ori Mts., and with 43 peaks above 2000 m. The moun- tains are overall karst/limestone (Figs 1-4). Crete is an extension of the Pindos Mts. of the Greek mainland. The distance to mainland Greece is about 100 km and to Turkey about 200 km. -

A new apatetrine gelechiid, Acutitornus persectus spec. nov., is described from the Northern Cape province of South Africa. The larvae of this species develop in stem galls in Stipagrostis namaquensis (Nees) (Poaceae), a grass species with the unusual defense mechanism of abscising leaves in response to insect or fungal attack. MOTH MONITORING REPORT 2019 - 2020 Dr. Paula Banza Moth Monitoring Report 2019-2020 1. Introduction The present report shows the results of Moth Trapping during 2019 and 2020 in Cruzinha grounds, the headquarters of A Rocha Portugal and two additional sessions (2019) in two locations of Ria de Alvor. In 2019 the number of sessions were only 34, given the lack of volunteers to perform this type of work and in 2020 the number of sessions was 33, mainly because of the COVID 19 pandemic situation. In April and May of 2020 there were no trapping sessions. We used a Skinner type moth trap with a 125 mercury vapor lamp, placed in the garden area of Cruzinha, except for the two additional sessions when we used a Heath trap powered by a 15 watt actinic UV. Most of the captures were made by Paula Banza, the person in charge of the project, with some help from a volunteer named Sara Roda. Moth identifications were done by Paula Banza and also by Sara Roda, with the supervision of Paula Banza. The main objective of this work is to gain some knowledge of the diversity, abundance and distribution of moths in some habitats of the Algarve. At the same to use this knowledge as an environmental education tool with students, tourists and other people interested about moths. In 2019 the total of moths caught was 4838 from 337 species belonging to 32 families. In 2020 the total of moths caught was 7718 from 357 species belonging to 34 families. The majority of the moths were identified to the species level, but in some cases the identification was done only at genus level. -

Corley Abstract A project to identify hotspot areas in Portugal especially rich in Lepidoptera biodiversity has initiated field work in recent years in the Tejo Internacional Natural Park, in the extreme east of central Portugal. To date, this has confirmed the presence of 461 butterfly and moth (Rhopalocera and Heterocera) species belonging to 49 different families. This Natura 2000 site and Natural Park was selected for conservation for its birds of prey and steep ravines supporting well preserved Mediterranean scrubland. However, the Lepidoptera communities were previously unknown. This work is aimed at filling this knowledge-gap and raising the Lepidoptera profile in the area, which is moderately rich in butterflies and moths in a national context. -
