PAYMENT POLICY Payments for reservations made between the 1st and 15th of the month will be due on the 1st of the following month. Payments for reservations made between the 16th and the end of the month will be due on the 15th of the following month. Payments for reserva- tions made less than 30 days before arrival are due when reservation is made. Payments may be made by check, cash or credit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.

CANCELLATION POLICY Refund provided for cancellations up to 30 days prior to arrival, less a $15 processing fee. No refunds for cancellations with less than a 30 day notice. This includes meals and lodging for group lodges and individual cabins unless we are able to rebook your reservation space(s); in that event, the amount received from another party for your reservation will be refunded, less a $15 processing fee. Any partial cancellation up to 30 days prior to arrival will result in a refund, less a $15 processing fee. Any change in reservation dates will result in a $15.00 processing fee.

There are NO EXCEPTIONS to our cancellation policy. We are not responsible for medical or family emergencies, weather or weath- er related trail conditions. Weather conditions or trail closures do not change the terms of our cancellation policy. We encourage you to research travel insurance services to best meet your needs if you must cancel or interrupt your trip due to unforeseen circumstances.

LAST MINUTE REMINDERS Pack a towel please….we ask you to bring your own hand towel and washcloth. Packing supplies up and down the mountain continues to be a problem and with your help we can improve overall service to our guests at LeConte Lodge.

Remember your $12.00 per person please….for wine at dinner. This is for adults only.

Pack lightly please….but don’t forget a flashlight and a warm sweater or jacket for those chilly nights.

Sure to please….each year LeConte Lodge offers an original limited edition t-shirt. The shirts are available in various sizes and colors in both long and short sleeve styles. The shirts are sold exclusively on the mountain as well as other merchandise

LeConte Lodge is managed by LeConte Lodge Limited Partnership, an authorized National Park Service Concession. It is not permissible by any individual, company, church or organization to increase for profit the approved and published rates under any circumstances. Failure to comply with this notice will result in forfeiture of current reservation and future booking privileges. GETTING THERE IS HALF THE FUN

There are five beautiful trails that lead to and from LeConte Lodge® and there are convenient trailhead parking lots next to each. For additional information on the trails, please visit our websites. Please note: Hwy 441, Rd. through the park is often closed in March, April and November due to ad- verse weather conditions. Call 865-436-1200 x632 for updates on Road Closures within the National Park.

Alum Cave Trail Start at the Alum Cave parking area on Newfound Gap Road, 8.5 miles south of Park Headquarters and Visitor's Center. Distance to LeConte Lodge: 5.0 miles. Net climb: 2,560 feet. Although strenuous on the ascent, it is the easiest return from the summit. At the lower portion see Alum Cave Creek, Arch Rock, Alum Cave Bluff (an excellent overlook) at 2.3 miles and national park ser- vice interpretive signs. At the upper portion, below Cliff Top, is a narrow cleft across a steep open slope with cables installed for handholds. In winter, this part of the trail may be choked with ice hummocks covering the cables, so use extra caution. Note the large red spruce and tulip trees along the way and flowering rhododendron in late June.

The Boulevard Trail Start at the Newfound Gap parking lot. You will follow the Appalachian Trail for 2.7 miles to the junction where the Boulevard Trail branches left (North). Total distance to LeConte Lodge: 8.1 miles. Net Climb: 1500 feet. The Boulevard Trail is a rolling trail following a narrow ridge with steep forested slopes on both sides; the trail is steep at the final ascent to LeConte Lodge. You may occasionally encounter ice and snow in early spring and late fall on this trail. An interesting side trail just past the junction with the Appalachian Trail leads right 0.4 miles to the top of cliffs at the Jump-off, with striking views of Charlie's Bunion and upper Greenbrier Cove. Myrtle Point and Cliff Top offer other excellent views. Note red spruce and balsam firs along the way.

Bullhead Trail Start on the Rainbow Falls - Bullhead parking lot at 3.4 miles on Cherokee Orchard Road (a two-way road). Distance to LeConte Lodge: 6.9 miles. Net climb: 3820 feet. , which originates at the same parking lot, rejoins Bullhead at mile 6.4. Fine look-offs at the Bullhead and a heath bald. Note red spruce and balsam firs along the way and the Bullhead Heath for spring blooms. The Bullhead Trail offers magnificent autumn scenery.

Rainbow Falls Trail Start on the Rainbow Falls - Bullhead parking lot at 3.4 miles on Cherokee Orchard Road (a two-way road). Distance to LeConte Lodge: 6.7 miles. Net climb: 3,820 feet. Bullhead Trail, which originates at the same parking lot, rejoins Rainbow Falls Trail at mile 5.8. Note Rainbow Falls at mile 2.4. LeConte Creek forcibly erupts over the rocks and can freeze solid in the winter. See im- pressive overlooks at 5.0 miles. In late June, Rocky Spur is a good place to see flowering rhododendron.

Trillium Gap Trail Start at the Grotto Falls parking lot at mile 1.7 on the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail (one-way road closed in winter); no RV’s or trailers. Distance to LeConte Lodge: 6.7 miles. Net climb: 3,300 feet. See Grotto Falls at mile 1.5. Note Roaring Fork Creek, one of the steepest streams in the park. Also note red spruce and at higher elevations, fraser fir. As you walk the trail between Grotto Falls and Trillium Gap, listen for underground streams roaring through the rocks. Trillium Gap Trail is the trail the llamas use to pack supplies to the Lodge.
