Press Release Asha Audio To Celebrate Alka Yagnik’s 3 Decades Of Musical Journey With “Sureeli Yaadein” - The Leading Audio company Also Celebrates Their Completion Of 20 Years In The Music Industry- Kolkata, 25th June, 2015: Asha Audio Company, the name which has become synonymous with the new age Bengali music, is celebrating singer, Alka Yagnik’s musical journey of over 3 decades with a musical soiree, “Sureeli Yaadein” on 27th June, 2015 at Nazrul Manch. The evening will see Alka Yagnik reminiscing her musical journey with a never-before performance. Her co-singers, Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet, Babul Supriyo and Jolly Mukherjee, with whom she has delivered numerous superhit songs, will also perform with her. A special logo was unveiled today to mark Asha Audio Company’s 20 years in the audio industry by Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik. “Way back in 1995, we at Asha Audio, started our journey with the launch of a Bengali album sung by Kumar Sanu. The album was superhit. Today, we are extremely happy and at the same time, emotional, because Sanu Da is here amongst us and unveiled our logo marking our 20 years’ journey. We share a wonderful rapport with Alka Yagnik who has spent over 30 years in the music industry, still belting out chartbusters. Incidentally, her first Rabindrasangeet album was launched by us. We thought that it was the right time to celebrate her melodious musical journey with “Sureeli Yaadein’ in her hometown, Kolkata. We have chosen a wide variety of Hindi and Bengali songs which the audience will enjoy”, said Ms Mahua Lahiri, Director, Asha Audio Company. Alka Yagnik started singing at the age of six and got a break for the first time in the 1980 film, Payal Ki Jhankaar under music director Rajkamal, at the age of fourteen. Her song ‘mere Angne Mein’ from Lawaaris was her first hit song. And after ‘Ek Do Teen’ in Tezaab in 1988, there was no looking back. As on date, Alka has sung 2,482 Hindi songs in 1114 films. She has also sung various songs in Bengali, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Avadhi, Oriya, Assamese, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Tamil, Telugu, English and Malayalam. Apart from the plethora of awards that she has won, Alka has also won two National Awards for her songs ‘Ghunghat Ki Aar Se’ from Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke and ‘Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hain’ from Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hain. She has worked with renowned composers such as Rahul Dev Burman, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Kalyanji Anandji, Bappi Lahiri, Rajesh Roshan, Nadeem Shravan, Jatin Lalit, Anu Malik, AR Rahman, Anand Milind, Himesh Reshammiya, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Ismail Darbar, Aadesh Shrivastava, Viju Shah, MM Keeravani, Sajid Wajid, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Himesh Reshammiya, Sandesh Shandilya, Amit Trivedi, Anand Raj Anand, Pritam, Viju Shah, Uttam Singh and many others.
