Take a quick look at our checklist to make sure you have the best fit possible. Natural fitting crotch A pantywear crotch should fit naturally against your body. There should be no excessive fabric in the front or back, and should definitely not be binding. If your panty has a front horizontal crotch seam, it should be visible from the front and not slip backwards. If it does, check to see that your panty isn't on backwards. Waistband is snug but not binding If your waistband keeps bunching up and rolling over in the front, you have the wrong size. Try a smaller size. The right size means your band stays in place and is comfortable. Legs are snug but not binding Panty legs should not be so tight that they cause grooves along your thighs. Leg openings should be evenly arched on both legs and the fabric should not be bunched or twisted. If you are still having trouble with binding legs, try a panty with a high cut leg style such as French cut. Buttocks is cupped Assuming you are not wearing a thong, the proper fit around the buttocks is balanced, symmetrical, covered and cupped. If not, you need a bigger size. Also, if some of your current panties are riding up, the elastic is probably shot and they need to be replaced. Experience or consultation of the manufacturers' sizing charts will provide the most accurate guide. Experience has taught us that our male customers prefer the lower riding panty cuts - fundamentally the V shaped man is built differently to the A shaped woman. The hips are probably the most important measurement for men. We've also found that they prefer the higher leg cuts to reduce chafing at the thighs. Consideration must be given to the amount of material in the front triangle of the panty, as some cuts are very scant in front. Whilst women need more material for back coverage, men need more in front. This thesis paper, titled The Evolution of Brassiere in the 20th Century will explore the history of brassiere in the last 100 years. While the paper will briefly discuss the pre-birth of the brassiere during Minoan times, French Revolution and early feminist movements, it will largely focus on historical accounts after the 1900s.

    THE HONG KONG POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY INSTITUE OF TEXTILES AND CLOTHING MATERNITY GARMENT TREATMENT FOR THE RELIEF OF LOW BACK PAIN SIMONE HO SIN MAN A thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy May 2008 DEDICATION This thesis is dedicated to my family Background Low back pain (LBP) is the most common musculoskeletal problem during pregnancy. Pregnant women traditionally wear maternity support belts for back discomfort and have experienced pain relief. However, the designs of these maternity support garments lack scientific research and their clinical efficacy remains elusive. Limited evidence is available to substantiate its putative beneficial effects. Aims This study aims to investigate the garment needs of pregnant women in terms of physical and psychological comfort, based on which to establish design criteria, to develop a maternity support garment, and to evaluate the effect in the maternity garment treatment for the relief of LBP. Methods This study was conducted in three phases: a) an exploratory phase, b) a developmental phase, and c) an evaluative phase. In the exploratory phase, a longitudinal study of 29 pregnant women was undertaken to investigate which biomechanical measures should be used to specify the functional requirements of the maternity support garment. In-depth interviews and wear trials were completed to elicit responses of pregnant women (10 in personal interviews and 14 in wear trials) on 8 maternity support garments. Fabric objective measurements of the same 8 tested garments and 16 alternative samples were conducted before material selection for the first garment prototype. In the developmental phase, the functional garment design criteria were determined and several prototypes were made based on DeJonge’s design framework.

By compiling top searches, we are able to render a strong representation of the population and gain insight into this population’s behavior. In our second iteration of the Google Fashion Trends Report, we are excited to introduce data from multiple markets. This report focuses on apparel trends from the United States and United Kingdom to enable a better understanding of how trends spread and behaviors emerge across the two markets. Olivier Zimmer | Trends Data Scientist Yarden Horwitz | Trends Brand Strategist Methodology To compile a list of accurate trends within the fashion industry, we pulled top volume queries related to the apparel category and looked at their monthly volume from May 2014 to May 2016. We first removed any seasonal effect, and then measured the year-over-year growth, velocity, and acceleration for each search query. Based on these metrics, we were able to classify the queries into similar trend patterns. We then curated the most significant trends to illustrate interesting shifts in behavior.
