After making a good impression in two maiden appearances last year, it was impossible not to be impressed with his easy comeback victory at Newmarket in late-April (Zodiakos third) and there looks to be a whole lot more to come from Charlie Appleby's colt. Providing he doesn't get stuck in the mud, he could prove up to defying a 9lb rise. Ryan Moore sides with Haydock scorer Out And About and it would come as no surprise to see him go close either. • 2019 Royal Ascot Insider Guide
2019 Royal Ascot Insider Guide WatchandWager’s 2019 Royal Ascot Insider Guide Welcome to the WatchandWager Worldwide exclusive Insider’s Guide to Royal Ascot 2019 - the greatest five days of Thoroughbred racing on the calendar. This year we will be offering a massive DOUBLE WIN ODDS boost on all Wesley Ward-trained winners at the Royal Meeting. Yes, if Wesley trains a winner, WatchandWager will double the tote odds! This pioneer American trainer has a fantastic record at the Royal Meeting, and WatchandWager offers the very best value to our USA clients. Our insider guide as a result focuses on Wesley Ward’s runners and all information is of course subject to running plans from the barn. In addition to this special bonus, this year WatchandWager is very pleased to be able to contribute to the World Pools operated by the UK Tote. This will introduce more betting volumes from customers betting through the Hong Kong Jockey Club, which is also a business partner with WatchandWager. Bigger pools create more liquidity and possibly higher dividends for successful players. Most importantly, creative initiatives like this will help to return more funds to UK Racing. For this reason, WatchandWager fully supports this project during Royal Ascot and in the future. Summary Wagering Tips are difficult to predict, especially with running plans uncertain in many races. Do remember some key points, though. Ascot has become a “course specialist” track, so note all previous successful form at the track. Also, if the weather dries up, be very careful about the draw bias on the straight track as it can be pronounced.

  • 6 MILLION PRIZE MONEY at ROYAL ASCOT 2021 Tuesday 9Th March 2021
£6 MILLION PRIZE MONEY AT ROYAL ASCOT 2021 Tuesday 9th March 2021 Prize money for Royal Ascot 2021 is today announced at £6 million over the week – a 66% increase on the £3.61m offered in 2020. The Royal Meeting will take place from 15th to 19th June and the full order of running with race values for the extended programme announced in January is attached. The King George VI & Queen Elizabeth QIPCO Stakes, which takes place in July, will be run for £875,000 (2020: £400,000). Guy Henderson, Chief Executive Officer at Ascot Racecourse, said: “In 2020 we had hoped to offer record prize money of more than £8 million at the Royal Meeting. In the event the pandemic made that impossible and we have now spent nearly a year racing behind closed doors with trading income down 80%. This year’s prize money of £6 million represents 75% of what we had originally planned for 2020. “With restricted attendances in 2021 and pandemic insurance cover no longer available, the business will need to absorb a significant loss this year in order to deliver our wish to support the industry with the most prize money that we can prudently afford. Whilst Covid-19 has knocked back our long term financial trajectory by several years, our aim is to make the largest steps we can towards getting prize money levels back on track as soon as possible. “Without owners we would have no racing. We are very grateful for their commitment and thank them for their support. We look forward to being able to increase prize money further as soon as it is possible for us to do so.

  • Over £8 Million Prize Money on Offer at Royal Ascot 2020
OVER £8 MILLION PRIZE MONEY ON OFFER AT ROYAL ASCOT 2020 3rd December 2019 Ascot Racecourse today announces that Royal Ascot 2020 will be run for a record £8,095,000, an increase of £765,000 on 2019 values. For the first time, the Royal Meeting will play host to two £1 million races; The Prince of Wales’s Stakes (from £750,000) and the Diamond Jubilee Stakes (from £600,000). No race at Royal Ascot will be run for less than £95,000 in 2020 (£90,000 in 2019) and in total 16 of the 30 races have been the subject of increases. Total prize money at Ascot next year, excluding the industry owned QIPCO British Champions Day, will be £14.4m, an increase of £819,000 (Executive contribution 2020: £8.1m, 2019: £7.4m). This includes bringing the Longines Sagaro Stakes up from £60,000 to £80,000 to match the Commonwealth Cup Trial on Royal Ascot Trials Day. Ascot’s Prize Money of £14.4m in 2020 is an increase of 65% on the 2010 Prize Money of £8.7m. Of the prize money in 2010, £4.1m (47% of the total) was Executive Contribution. In 2020, with Executive Contribution of £8.1m (56% of the total), the growth in percentage terms is 96% from a decade ago. Guy Henderson, CEO, Ascot Racecourse, said: “Royal Ascot plays an important role for the industry in maintaining international investment in British racing. The progress we have made with our international commercial rights, our debt financing programme and our business as a whole means that we are now able to start to implement our long held aspiration to increase the prize fund for our flagship and internationally relevant Group One races at Royal Ascot to £1million, beginning with the Prince of Wales’s Stakes and the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

  • Newmarket July Festival
Your complete guide to the NEWMARKET JULY FESTIVAL Presented with the compliments of Introduction Welcome to the 2018 Newmarket July Festival magazine presented by Timeform, which features previews and tips for the big races on Friday and Saturday. There are now seven Group 1 sprints in Britain for three-year-olds and upwards, with Saturday’s Darley July Cup (£283,550) behind only the Diamond Jubilee and British Champions Sprint in terms of prize-money for the winner. The Diamond Jubilee has proved a good guide to the Newmarket feature in recent years—Starspangledbanner and Lethal Force are amongst those to have completed the double since the turn of the century—but the first six from that Ascot event are all missing from the entries for the latest renewal of the July Cup, and instead it is the King’s Stand winner Blue Point who heads the betting at this stage. No horse has completed the King’s Stand/July Cup double since Never So Bold in 1985, but Blue Point’s defeat of Battaash last time is by far the best form on offer here, and he rates the clear one to beat if reproducing it over this extra furlong. Godolphin also look set to be represented by Dreamfield, who lost nothing in defeat, despite failing to land a gamble, when second in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot last time, while 10 of the 18 entries at the five-day stage are trained by Aidan O’Brien.U S Navy Flag was a dual Group 1 winner at two, and could be the pick of the Ballydoyle runners dropping back to sprint trips for the first time in 2018.

Go but, as a biased Englishman, I have no hesitation in calling Royal Ascot with it! The stable is patronised by some of the biggest gamblers in the the best Flat race meeting in the world. world and they do not get things wrong very often. Either go with them or stay out but don’t go against them. It just wins at every level, from being perhaps our top society occasion to an absolutely frenzied week-long betting event.
